How bad are we talking? Are we talking about two dates transposed? Or are we talking about a complete fabrication - e.g. DOB on document 15/12/1954 ... actual DOB 20/05/1970? Either way - fix now - not later. British Citizenship can be rescinded if they believe the application is false. M. Thanks w...

Re: Will change of birth affect an ILR application?

Can't she just get the dates fixed on her travel document? It is too far gone i am afraid. She has travelled on it a few times and she is due to travel soon (document expires in February 2014). I was thinking if she presented a copy of her birth certificate during ILR or wait till she is eligible f...

Will change of birth affect an ILR application?

A friend of mine has a travel document (passport style) and she is eligible for ILR next year. She put in a wrong date of birth when when she got her travel document. She wants to change this for the ILR application. With proof (birth certificate) will this affect her ILR application in anyway? Thanks

Re: Visitor visa sponsorship enquiry?

I don't claim benefits but I am able to look after myself and pay the bills is this what they are looking for? It depends on what you have stated in the invitation letter. If you are just inviting her and she is sponsoring her trip and accommodation, then your details are of less importance. Howeve...

The times are changing. When i first came to the UK as a student in 97/98 i thought it was bad (international students could not work) but this is terrible. If they keep up with this, most of us won't bother coming here and contributing to the economy. If you go to Tabloid sites like Yahoo during a ...

Are the processing times changing?

I had my interview last Thursday morning and i was expecting a 30min interview. It lasted for about 15mins or so. The lady was very friendly and said my application will go to the printers in the evening and i should expect the passport to arrive within the next 4-5 working days. Guess what? my pass...

You have been out of the country for over 90 days and this will most likely disqualify your application. I was out of the country for over 90 days due to work and the lady at the NCS centre advised me to get a letter from my employee explaining why i was out and for how long etc. This i did and ther...

Hi, my scenario is not unique. I qualify for BC after 10yrs of residence. From what i understand, it seems i don't need anything else other than a completed form, passport and the test certificate

I am in the same boat, and confused what date to put when I apply for naturalisation. When I arrived in UK, it was a study visit, and I had no intention of staying in UK long term. But then the ball started rolling, one thing after another. After nearly 11 years I was granted ILR. So I do not know ...

Citizenship question

Hi all, i have a question. In order to apply for citizenship, you have to not spend more than 90 days away from the country one year after your ILR. For example if i am working away from the U.K for 3 months and i visit once a month, is this ok?

Thanks
