Expediting return of passport/visa after successful appeal

I won my Tier 1 (General) extension appeal on Wednesday last week. The Home Office's lawyer told us beforehand that he ‘wasn’t sure what argument he could make’ because he agreed that I had provided the right evidence in my original application. He then ‘reluctantly’ made one submission, which was t...

Submitting original docs after application?

Asking for a friend. She is applying from within the UK to extend her ancestry visa, which expires on Tuesday 18 June. She has just realised that she needs to include her mother's birth certificate. Unfortunately the original is in New Zealand and it will be very difficult to get it to the UK in tim...

The HMRC letter shows my gross income and tax for the 2011/2012 tax year. I am claiming points for income from Sept 2011 - March 2012. The UKBA guidance says the following about this at 114(iv): "Please note that because tax documents are usually produced at the end of a fixed tax period they w...

gaurav76.5, thanks for your help. On what basis do you suggest the HMRC letter will be helpful? From a common sense perspective it seems to me it should be, but the guidance suggests it isn't a source of evidence if it doesn't match the period claimed.

I have a few of the payslips but they didn't always provide them to me (unhelpful, I know). This is why i have got a statement of earnings from the payroll provideer, which shows my gross pay, tax, national insurance, and net pay for each month that I am claiming. I'm not sure that they payslips wou...

Evidence where salary/wages paid in cash

I am about to apply for an extension to my tier 1 visa and will be claiming points for income from September 2011 to August 2012. The majority of the income will come from my current job, which pays me a good salary and for which I have all the proper evidence. However, to get sufficient points I al...

GeneNZ - my information comes through friends who have spoken to a couple of different immigration agencies. The advisers they spoke to seemed to have been told these dates by their contacts at the Home Office. So while this information doesn't come directly from the Home Office, it does appear to h...

Announcement of changes to Tier 1 requirements

I have heard through various immigration agencies that the Government was intending to make an announcement on 16 March 2010 regarding the MAC recommendations, with changes to be implemented on 6 April 2010. I appreciate that any such comments are speculative and that nothing is certain until the an...
