Hi All I am hoping to do the online application this weekend for my husband's citizenship, through marriage to me (a Brit)...The referee we were going to use, a local councillor, has just advised us that his British passport has been expired for a few years! As it states the First referee must be th...

Thanks very much lucapooka, I have passed on the info, and my friend will write to UKBA about the relationship ending. They were married in Thailand, so any divorce proceedings will be done in that country, not in UK, so as she will not have to attend any court proceedings here, and she has little e...

yes, this is as I thought. I think she is intending to enter and go to London to then work (legally at first), and just stay here illegally when her Visa expires. I have advised my friend to write to UKBA to tell them the marriage is over, and they will then hopefully cancel her Visa, he was just wo...

DEBZ if you are applying for ILR in Glasgow, you can send a bankers draft or cheque to them beforehand,(to save possibility of d/c not going through), but it has to arrive with UKBA payments office AT LEAST 6 days before your appointment, and has to have the downloaded payment form with it. when I d...

I understand that these cancellations of appointments are a real pain, but something should be done by official channels, I really can't condone people making duplicate bookings, 'just in case' as Push has stated, this is not permitted by UKBA, and it is also REALLY unfair to the people trying to ge...

the problem is that bankers' draft is not acceptable 'ON THE DAY' at Glasgow PEO, this is only possible if you send this at least 6 days before the appointment, together with a payment form

yes, thats what it says on the wesite, for these 2 PEO's, they only take the cc/dc form of payment on the day http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/aboutus/contact/applyinginperson/cost/ as the previous poster stated, if you are paying by d/c, don't forget to inform your bank beforehand that you will be...

sorry, I have no idea how they take it, my appointment is in 4 weeks, and read on the UKBA site that they only take cc/dc payments on the day at both Glasgow & Cardiff, you cant take cheque, postal order or bankers darft, so best to try to find someone who has used d/c on the day, or ring them f...

Please also be aware that at Glasgow PEO you can only pay on the day by debit or credit card, they do not accept any other payment, unless you download a payment form and send this to them at least 6 days before the appointment

I will try to ring t...

I would just like to say how annoying it is to read OP's last comment. it seems that apart from Meats, (who is banned),you were given excellent advice, eg extending his student visa to give time to apply COA or allowing change to a different category, which does seem to be what you have in fact done...
