Return or One way ...

Hi Can anyone please advise if travelling on a one way ticket to London will cause any hassles at customs? I have a tier 1 visa and was told that travelling on a one way is perfectly ok. However, there are numerous travel agents who are advising me not to do so and rather opt for a return instead. I...

On the issue of police clearance, do initial applicants need to include police clearance certificates in their application?

I can't find any references saying that it is or isn't required when applying.

Previous earnings queries

Hello everyone. I've got a few questions with regards to previous earnings. 1) Is it important to show both opening and closing balances? On day one my opening balance was less than 2800 pounds but my closing balance on the same day was above 2800. Likewise, on the 90th day i intend to draw a bank s...

Thank you but this is not what i'm looking for.

I'd like to know how much needs to be earned. (before uplift ratio and based on todays current exchange rate of 69.9170)

Is 200 000 INR per year a fair assesment?

Please excuse my incompetance around average earnings in INR.

Earnings in India

Hi

What is the average earnings in India per year?

Under this points based system, If a 30 year old, who holds only a bachelor degree wants to apply for tier 1 then what would his/her previous earnings in INR need to be?

Before uplift ratio.

Hi If an initial Tier 1 is granted lets say after the 19th July 2010 but before April 2011, will the extension which can be made 2 years later be exempt from any cap? My understanding is that there is currently no quotas on extensions during the interim limit. So am i correct in assuming that as lon...

Hi All. The points structure for every section (i.e Age, qualifications, earnings etc) will remain exactly the same. They will not change the structure. The only difference is that instead of a pass mark of 75, you will from 19th July 2010 need a pass mark of 80. Remember that in order to make any c...

Quick clarification regarding earnings.

Hello Pros and Moderators. Please excuse me if this topic has been posted before. I just have a quick question regarding my previous earnings. 1. In my past 12 months earnings, i have received a bonus and pay in lieu of leave. Will this be considered? 2. I have also received an exam award. (this is ...

Alright, so it's confirmed. Only 5400 T1 visas will be available from 19th July 2010. This means that if the date of application is before the 19th July 2010, you will not be affected. For those applying on or after 19th July 2010, you will need a pass mark of 80 points (age, qualifications & pr...

If a cap of 24100 is to be introduced, is it possible that the cap will be reached within a month? I can't see this happening but would like to know your thoughts. I believe the cap to be reached by December 2010 making those who apply in the first 3 months (July, August & Sept) during the cap t...

Newlywed - Marital status

Good Day All.

I have a quick question with regards to my marital status. I have married recently and both my husband and i will be applying for tier 1 next week.

My passport however still reflects my maiden surname. Will this be a problem when we do apply?

Kind regards
Newlywed

Maintenance requirement - New rules 6 April 2010

Hi

With regards to the maintenance requirement, I've read in the MAC's recommendation report they might consider reducing the 3 month period to something like 2 months or even 1 month.

Does anybody know whether the 3 month period will be reduced after 6 April 2010?
