Re: Good Character Requirement-Overseas Criminal Compliant p

There are countries in this world where declaring one as an atheist is equated to terrorism . Do you think UKVI considers this as criminal charge ? Clearly No. Now (As I got citizenship without any issue) I can confirm that overseas criminal complaints which are not compatible with the UK law irresp...

Re: Wrong date stamped at the Paris airport

I had a similar issue with a holiday in Myanmar. the immigration officer in Burma did the same thing . It is just 1 day and doesn't matter at all. Get over it :D :D We all worry too much sometimes and waste our time on trivial things and its human nature. If I was you , I would have accepted Vinny's...

Re: HMRC Late SA penalty for 2013 in the middle of AN proces

The reason was no tax return was required as the income was from sources where tax is deducted at source. They accepted above excuse. Here is what it means ,Initial part of the tax year , I was on a perm job (taxes deducted as paye), Only for 2 months I contracted through my LTD company (No paye tax ...

Re: Outstanding case with hmrc

From my experience , HO will definitely come to know about the penalty. Best approach will be to fix everything with HMRC before applying for citizenship. You can also try the middle approach of getting a letter from HMRC that your tax issues will be looked on a certain date . Attach this letter wit...

Yes. I got a letter from my accountant which says that 2013 returns are done electronically & for 2012 it has been submitted as paper returns . Also attached a screenshot of hmrc portal which state that I don't owe any money.I posted them to HO. But not sure whether this move helped . It might h...

My accountant has done the self assessments now and I have paid the due taxes ( 150 + 250) & late payment penalty (1600) . But 2011/12 tax assessment can only be done in offline manner. According to my accountant , It would take at least 4 weeks to get this reflected in HMRC IT system.I am conce...

Re: HMRC Late SA penalty for 2013 in the middle of AN proces

Thanks Casa for replying.Keeping fingers crossed.I have paid the corporation tax correctly. Due to the low income (just 2 months of IT contracting), I am sure that I don't owe anything to the HMRC as self assessment for the Ltd company. My fault is that i didnt do the self assessment. As I have paid...

HMRC Late SA penalty for 2013 in the middle of AN processing

Hi All, I have applied for naturalization AN on May 21st 2016. I am surprised to see a letter from HRMC today (6 July 2016). It is regarding not filing self assessment for year ended in April 2013. They have fined me a huge amount 1500+100 for being late in doing the self assessment. Looks like my a...

Re: Good Character Requirement-Overseas Criminal Compliant p

UKVI might ignore overseas criminal cases which are not compatible with UK legal system. If you have accepted summons from the overseas court , you can declare it . But even that is bit ambiguous as AN application clearly states that you don't need to declare marriage/divorce related cases. If your ...

@johnch121 That's very useful mate. Unfortunately , Many of us immigrants were from 3rd world countries and were brought up in a culture of fear and insecurity . Be it the Govt , God or Society :-) . We were afraid of everything. I guess , HO is asking us to return BRP as they are concerned that the...
