I know I am eligible for ILR, but, as my current visa (leave) is expiring in July, there is an extension process that has been initiated for me. My company is saying they will not be extending it beyond 5 years because I am not eligible. Actually, if I get extended in my current visa category (Tier ...

Extension of Tier 2 ICT beyond 5 years

Hi All, In a strange turn of events, I have been told by my company that I am not eligible to get my Tier 2 ICT extended beyond 5 years, however, based on my understanding of the rules, as I came to the UK before the rules change in April 2010, I should be eligible for extension beyond 5 years. Foll...

Experts, i just reviewed that tier 2 ICT-long term route does not lead to settlement in UK. That means even if I have stayed in UK for five years under ICT-LT, I wont be able to file permanent residency after that...is this correct? I think it depends whether you entered before or after the rule ch...

Got it - So, if the OP was here under the rules before 6th Apr 2010, he would have been able to make a switch.

Thanks :)

So, how can one switch from "Tier 2 ICT" to "Tier 2 General"? Because as per one of your posts, under rule 245GD, you can make a switch from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General.

Getting my family to UK after getting ILR

Hi friends,

After getting an ILR, how easy/difficult is it to call my brother and mother from outside UK to UK and on which visa?

Can I apply for their ILR passport while they are outside UK?
If no, which visa can be applied for them and what will be its validity?

Thanks in advance!

Hi friends,

I'll be applying for my UK citizenship in a while and I just want to understand that if after getting my UK passport, if I intend to move to Australia and apply for a Australian citizenship, will I be able to hold both citizenships or will I need to forfeit one?

Thanks in advance!

The only doubt I had was if I get extended for 1 year every time from now onwards, I would require 3 extensions and whether UK Home office will still consider my start date as prior to April 2010?

ILR for Tier2 candidates

Hello Friends, Recently (December' 2009), there was a change in the rules for UK immigration that if a person has been on a Tier 2 visa for 5 years, he can't apply for ILR. Before December' 2009, duration under Tier2 visa was considered for ILR. My question is that if my Tier 2 visa started before t...
