Our Tier 1 (G) expired in early December and we applied for the extension in November and now the long wait begins. Question: What is our legal and employment status until the decision is made. Also, can we request UKBA to provide clarification on the right to work until the decision is reached?

You are worrying unncessarily. Again, postal address registered with Bank, Police etc isn't a visa qualifying criteria. Case worker isn't supposed to and will not be looking for such details. Postal address isn't a qualifying criteria for an extension. It doesnt matter where your bank statements are being delivered. What matters is that the bank account belong to you and you have sufficient funds going in for an income and maintained for the maintenance funds.
