It may be more clever to get a 2 bedroom flat and once she is here go back into a 1 bed as you clearly believe this is sufficient for 4 (though its hard to see how can a 1 bedroom flat accomodate 4 people), but the ECO will definetly pick upon your deceit, and you may be wasting time and money...

you need to apply for her to get settlement visa first - british passport wont be granted until you are a permanent citizen in the UK. as seh is minor once she is given the dependent settlement visa then you have start the process of naturalisation therby citizenship. what you need to start worrying...

I DONT THINK YOU CAN CARRY VISA AN ON EXPIRY PASSPORT - YOUWILL CERTTAINLY HAVE ISSUES WITH THIS WHEN TRAVELLING..I HAVE SEEN OTHERS EXPERIENCE THIS AND HAD TO GO AND GET A NEW PASSPORT.........

hello qalien it is absolutely true that these visas are very hard to get though the case with your mum being over 65 at least get rid of the problems of compassionate or exceptional grounds once you can prove all the other immigration criteria... see this link - this is my case i am currently going ...

it could well do - but this is not stated in their decision. I do believe they take these things into account though they say compassionate grounds means the person is very ill (literally dropping dead)...........why would you want someone ill to come here?? surely it would be a burden on the NHS - ...

THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION

I have been over and over those immigration rules - in fact i can now recite them. As i mentioned she met every single requirement apart from the fact that she is not yet 65 (she may never live to see 65 though i hope for the best) and to establish a more compassionate grounds is hard to imagine.......
