Based on what i did. Q1: >Call a solicitor near you and ask - they would do it or would refer you to someone. >i pre-copied. I think its better to have the copies made by yourself. Or else - they might charge you more. >They charged me Euro30 for everything (Galway). This differs across locations. Q...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony Date(s) & Info.

but could not apply for the ceremony as I was away during that periods [/b] Hate to sound negative, but you might be in for a good wait. The reason is a statement in the latest approval letters to the effect that: 'if you miss the invitation, they will try to accommodate you in another ceremony - b...

Thanks Kodo and adlexy, @Kodo: dod you put NO on the application when you applied? Or is that too personal a question? :) @adlexy: my thoughts were in your lines as well. However, the fact that they have specifically mentioned "(Traffic Offenses)" in the application - and give the history ...

Thanks KODO. The answer is 2 weeks from the date they received my €950 etc. I sent my €950 etc. by registered post, so I could know when it was received by tracking online via anpost.ie. Exactly two weeks after they received it, I received the letter acknowledging receipt and the date of the citize...

Thaks fatty patty and Eastend, It is kinda unclear, and the fact that they ask for the origin of the irish citizenship almost swings it to the arguement of fatty patty. It is reassuring to hear that Eastend's application is accepted at the first stage. Although, there is no surity of approval, it wo...

I has a similar question where i wanted to move from zambrano stamp 4 to spouse of irish citizen stamp 4. Although I haven't done that, here is what the garda officer told me: when you are up for renewal - renew it based on the new basis. In your case, just get all the documents required and apply f...

citizenship: Traffic offence (without court) = conviction?

Hi, Was caught for over-speeding on M7 and was given 2 points and a fine. Didnt go to court or there wasn't any official conviction or judgement. Should that be mentioned as an answer to the Citizenship application question: Do you have any convictions in the state (including traffic offences) or an...

It looks like the departments approach to such crimes have changed. Do we know when this guy was turned down? Is this an old case, before the department came to their senses? I believe a few people with over speeding offences (just fines and points - no convictions) were given citizenship without an...

Q: Naturalisation based on spouse of a NEW irish citizen?

Here is a question that is not clarified well on this forum yet. I could find only speculations. Case: My spouse and I are married for the last 3 years and we are both residents here for more than the same period (my wife = 9+ years). My wife got her citizenship last month. Can I apply for citizensh...

So we have an immigration stamp for visitors who wants to stay for more than 90 days! Wee, that should probably sort out worries about our parents etc not being able to join us. However, leaves me confused about a few areas: 1. "There will be no specific application process for a stamp 0. The a...

if you got stamp 4 based on zambrano, you are not eligible to apply for long term residency any more, as you already have the stamp 4. Did not know that Long Term residency was out of reach for Zambrano Stamp 4s! Is that from a credible source? What about WCATT? The Zambrano stamp 4 has a condition...

is the Department deliberately slowing this process in order to curb the acute shortage of doctors in the Irish hospitals. This is interesting. How would slowing down the application process "curb the acute shortage of doctors" ? Are you implying that the aforementioned doctors will leave...

The following are just my views based on people applying on the basis of 5 year residency. There seems to be atleast 3 processes underway: 1. Fore those who applied before mid 2008 . Someone told me that these applications were being processed in Dublin. And this seems to be the slowest. 2. Applicat...
