I think three mistakes are three boxes only. The certificate number (seven digits) takes seven boxes.

I called the IPS and they told me I need to complete a new form. It is another struggle to get it signed again.

naturalisation certificate number-passport application

I wrote the wrong naturalisation certificate number on the passport application form - the number at the bottom right hand corner starting with a letter.

My form is already signed by the referee, do I need to fill in a new form and get it signed again?

Passport countersignature predates citizenship certificate

Can the date of a passport countersignature predate the date of issue of the citizenship certificate? Or the date should be left blank and completed after the citizenship ceremony?

I suggest you email the Home Office and also contact your local council to confirm if they have two certificates.

Make sure you quote reference number name and dates of birth.

I suggest you email them as soon as possible. They ask you to contact them if you don't receive the invitation letter within two weeks.

No need for solicitors just yet.

Why Home Office letters take 2 weeks to arrive?

Why do Home Office letters take two weeks - from the date of printing - to arrive? It took my invitation letter two weeks to be delivered.

I suspect they send letters in batches and not as soon as they print them.

I am still waiting for an invitation letter. I received approval letter a week ago. I made a postal application not through NCS.

I read here that NCS applications do not receive approval letter but invitation letter.

You have to sign for the passport, it is not posted through the door without signature. The person signing for the passport must show proof of ID. Passports are not sent by normal post, they used to long ago.

Please note this letter IS NOT an invitation to a ceremony. You should NOT contact your local Authori...

Passport application-is countersignature really necessary?

Most of the applicants for first British passport now, with ILR and naturalisation would have had their ID confirmed by the Home Office, when biometric identity cards were issued to them for FLR and ILR. Why would applications for passports require a countersignature to confirm the identity of the a...

You have to be patient, it is only one month since they acknowledged your application. Not all applications are the same, circumstances of people are different and backgrounds of all applicants have to be checked.

Some backgrounds are easier than others to check, hence the different processing time.

It is still too early for applications submitted in mid April. It takes an average 6 weeks from the time the application is received.

There are two bank holidays in May and employees tend to take a long weekend. If some have Friday off, that is 4 working days less in May, almost a week.
