I doubt your special-delivery envelope will be linked with your application, anything out of the routine for the Home Offic...

It seems that you did not read the guidance notes to Form AN. I suggest you read them carefully.

You only need ONE photo and NO NEED to have it signed by referee.

I suggest you email the Home Office and request an extension.

I am not sure if that is possible, you can always try. Maybe an experienced moderator can advise you better on this one.

If you are abroad you can email the citizenship section of your local council rather than phoning them. Check their email address in your council website. Quote your Home Office reference number. It is better to communicate in writing in this case.

I suggest you contact the council and ask.

I would assume it would be from the date of the invitation letter. You only need an extension of about 3 weeks.

Best thing to do is to phone your local authority and let them know when you are returning back to the UK. They could put your certificate aside and not return it back to the Home Office.

It may be to early for them to book you an appointment for end September.

It is also advisable to contact your local council to inform them about this mistake, maybe they have better means of communication with the Home Office than you.

Your certificate may be printed with your name misspelt and it will be the council that will have to send the certificate back to them.

Maybe you can send them another email. They are a bit slow at the Home Office when it comes to non-routine matters.

Give it some more time and be patient.

Do not show the BRP to local authorities, on entry or exit, but your passport only. Your BRP does not show the gender of your partner, just make up a female's name if you are asked. You only need to show the BRP to the airline check-in desk to make sure you have a valid visa for the UK. I wish you a...

The problem normally happens at the airline check-in desk. They need to be persuaded that you have the correct visa for entry into the UK. One cannot just travel with a naturalisation certificate and foreign passport alone. If the BRP card is still valid, that should be enough for the check-in staff.

Only one referee must be British, the other one of any nationality.

One of them must be a professional referee, either of them.
