Hello, We (my German husband and I) are moving to Galway in two weeks. I have a job and will be working for an Irish company. My husband may continue to work for his German employer, but will be with me in Ireland. i assume he continues to pay German tax. How does that affect my tax rate in Ireland?...

Hi Sarah We have yet to receive any temporary stamp for my partner so I am not sure. My firm of solicitors are currently in the process of taking the Department to court over this issue (not through us, someone who applied on 31 May was given stamp 3). Hopefully it will cause a precedence and not j...

Man..!!!! I guess these guys take really advanced courses in framing complex sentences.... two interesting pointers come through. 1. Residence card should be issued "no later than six months from the date on which they submit the application." Something which the inis guys are happily ign...

HI all, I also wrote signposts.ie and asked about this. This was their response: I wish to refer you to EU Directive 2004/38/EC on the right of citizens of the Union and their family members to move and reside freely within the territory of the Member States. Under Article 23 of the above-mentioned ...

Hi Monifé, Anything happening here? This will most definitely affect me too as a non-EU spouse of an EU person. I have the job offer and am not sure when I can start! I also wrote the European commission and signpost.ie and got this confusing reply: I wish to refer you to EU Directive 2004/38/EC on...

Hi Irelander,

What happened? Did they give you the visa? I'm in a similar situation (I'm American and my husband is German) and am wondering what will happen with my Stamp 4. I have a job offer already.

Thanks,
Sarah

I think this will be between you and your employer. If you can explain to them your rights and if they can understand you clearly on that. then you will be fine. They should know that they wont be having any problem by hiring you. of course this is quite difficult to prove because they will not wan...

Hi Ben,

Thanks for your answer...

So what can we do to prove that? I obviously can't go and work without something in my passport, correct?

Where should I go to get help with it? I need to sign the contract...

Thanks so much.

Sarah

(You can also PM me if that helps).

Hi Ben,

Yes, he would be coming and the rest of the family. He has job interviews now, so he would be coming to work as well.

Has anything come of this case? Has anyone been given Stamp 3 instead of Stamp 4? I'm an American who has just been offered a job in Ireland based on the fact that I am married to a German and have permanent residency in Germany. Now I hear that the law has changed and that I won't be able to work w...
