Contractor's absence letter

Hi Everyone, I am a contractor using umbrella company, so the umbrella company technically is my employer. They refuse to give me a letter for absences as they genuinely don't hold that information. However, they agree to issue a letter confirm that I am entitled 28 days paid annual holiday and it i...

Where did you get this information from? I thought as long as 1. It is 12 consecutive months within 15 Months from the date you apply for the ILR (counting backwards). 2. The total sum of the salary is sufficient to claim the required points. Hi, For Tier 1 (G) applicants applying for ILR, do they ...

I was away for 148 days in total in five years, out of which 20 days were work from home and the rest were annual paid holidays. I think with the new changes we do need a letter from employer. How did you get the conclusion that the letter is required, did the CW specifically ask for it? Many Thanks.

Can't agree with you more on the rights to take holidays. If they reject a case purely baseing on a few unpaid holidays, and your overall absenct still below the permitted days, I am sure you can appeal and argue the case! I don't think difference PEOs will make a case easier/ harder to approve.

Good luck!

Contractor's paid holiday entitlement

Hi Guys I did some research on unpaid leaves -- as a contractor using an umbrella company or just a contractor, we are entitled for 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year. This is probably why on the payslip, there is column called 'holiday pay' every month. So, am I right to say even though the actual day...

I was very much employed but had used up all my most of my allowance for year 2011/12. So I added 2 weeks unpaid to 1 week paid holiday - which my manager approved. I have been working with the same organisation since 2007 and can get a letter with details of all leave. Maybe write a letter to expl...

Why these days are unpaid? Is it because you were employed but used up all your holiday allowance therefore they were unpaid, or you were unemployed at the time? I think your case would be harder to argue if it is the latter. in 5 years of working with the same employer, i have only had 2 weeks unpa...

Re: UBKA clarification on Tier 1 (general) absences question

Why? permanent people may travel aboard when in between jobs, not only contractors. And, if a contractor is using umbrella company, and this person takes holidays while on assignment, he/she is considered as employed, not unemployed. Isn't it? I have gone through Indefinite leave to remain – calcula...

You probably are one of few people to apply for ILR with unpaid holidays since the new rule comes into force.

Wish you good luck, think as long as the break is not long and you can show the intention to come back and work, you should be fine.

Please do share your experience once you've got the ILR!
