Re: I just got British Passport. Travel to India Advice...

Not hijacking the thread, but curiosity got the better of me.

How would the Indian border officials know that the OP is a british passort holder, Can the OP not leave the country(India) if he has a valid Indian passort and Visa? And use the British passport to enter UK.

Re: Naturalization(MN1) and travel w/o British Passport

Thanks very much Cr001

Just one quick follow up question - What would be my Daughter's nationality in the Landing Card. I suppose this is quite trivial, but want to be prepared when it comes to the details.

I don't think they send a confirmation, you could set up a royal mail redirection for peace of mind.

A letter from your client is probably not the most straight forward thing. I would focus on getting a reference letter from the recruitment agency , that summarises the engagement with the client. Details that can go into the letter - 1. Client Name/Details 2. Rate 3. Role in the client location. 4...

whatever rules applicable during the time of your first application apply now, i got my 2nd extension approved yesterday.

For example if you scored 10 points for your age in 2008, you can claim the same now. the same principle applies for your previous earnings and other areas.

In my opinon, OP should have applied as employed and not self-employed. It appears that OP is employed as a director of his/her limited compnay. Although they are interchangeably used, they technically dont mean the same.

How is one supposed show the phone bills if the Tier 1 holder is in UK and the Spouse / Fiancee is in India and they use Voip through phone/ computer to speak to each other. Direct calls are quite expensive and you will have to make the calls out of compulsion rather than desire :-). They dont reall...

Do they really do that? With the kind of numbers flowing out to different countries on different Visas on any given day, I guess the best way to do their duty is to ascertain the cause of visit by asking questions and to get convinced. I fully empathize with them. Shepherd Agreed! I was asked quite...

I was sponsored to do a 50K/year job, but lost it (it was a small company and the second founder whom I met very briefly before arrival, didn't like me as a person.) With earnings in my home country, I do score enough points, though. Is it worth it to apply? I'm not sure, because my cause doesn't l...
