I just got a reply from vfs, and they said that it is ok to travel within the 3 month grace period and I do not need to inform anyone about it.

AFAIK, the penalty is imposed only if you travel outside the 3 month grace period

Thanks for all your help folks!

I am now applying for naturalization, but I do not have the reference number for the Life in the UK test I took last year. Will I have to take the test again, or will my ILR be proof enough that I have already t...

right, got it clarified by ringing the home office, seems they have made an admin error on the website.

Incase someone else gets stung by this, for applicaitons using SET(O), you do not have to make a payment online, and the payment will be processed the same day as your appointment.

Hi, I was just going through the SET(0) form for my upcoming application for ILR, based on a WP->Tier1->Tier1 (Renewal) route. I got my first Tier 1 visa before the April 2010 rules (on 05/09/08), and I then renewed it earlier this year, which means the renewal falls under the "post April 2010...

Hi Hussain, I also tried (in vain) to secure an appointment in person, but the system just doesn't show any slots. I guess the only thing you can do is send it by post. From what I know, your visa date is taken from the point when the home office receives your application. Besides, if you send it no...

Changing Tier 1 to ILR, very tricky scenario

Hi Guys, I got a work permit from a company, valid from Nov'06 - Nov'11. Thereafter, I applied for a Tier 1 visa, and got that stamped, valid from Sept'08-Sept'11. Now, I would like to apply for ILR, and really do not wish to first get a Tier 1 extension from Sept'11-Nov'11 and then apply for ILR. I...
