Returning Documents

Does the UKBA use self addressed special delivery envelopes you add to your application or do they always use recorded delivery to return all documents regardless?

Thanks for the info and goodluck. Listen to as many opinions as possible but give more weight to what the consultants tell you.
All the best.

Go and speak to an immigration consultant and seek legal representation at the appeal. Anyway, what was the timeframe between applying, biometrics and the subsequent refusal? Goodluck mate.

Thankx Sush but the fallacy of tier 2 comes to bear when it comes to workpermit holders because the link and the whole site mentions transition etc. but makes no mention/provision as to whether a resident labour market test has to be carried out by the employer in the process of attaining the COS fo...

Yeah i have had a similar response varying from the positive to the . I have been waiting for 5 weeks (torture) since biometrics. The only consolation is that if worse comes to worse and it is refused, and appeal rights are given (provided if leave to remain has expired) then there is always a chanc...

Get Advice and Stay Calm

The best short term thing to do is to ask an immigration solicitor via email or appointment (average charge is £60 an hour). I made an even scarier error as a work permit holder by not ticking transition instead of extension of tier 2 and am dreading any parcels arriving at my address. I contacted ...

Resident Labour Market Test

Do work permit holders (old system) require a resident labour market test if they want to continue in the same job at the same company when they apply for tier 2?

Goodluck Mate

Ok i hope things go okay. You would have thought if they have a lot of applications they would employ more staff. I guess treating migrants like s**t (pardon my french) by leaving them in limbo for weeks is just too enjoyable for them. They want you to not contact them until after 14 weeks. I hope t...

Had a chat with a solicitor and he claims they put more importance on the information on the COS input by the employer and as long as there are no mistakes on their part (lower salary than code allows etc.) and consistent with what i put on the form, there is a chance. Is this true or is he trying t...

Be careful

Be very careful mate. Go and speak to an immigration consultant. It will cost you on average £60 an hour. Please make sure you do that. I botched up my application by selecting extension application instead of transition cos i was a work permit holder continuing to work for the same employer. The f...

Another issue is that time has elapsed. Application was sent end of june and did biometrics first week of july so they have had it for 3 whole weeks since biometrics (scary). The decision might have been already made i dont know i am just frustrated. I am gutted the case worker hasnt contacted me fo...

Really down

Thank you for your reply Sush. I am so angry with myself I cannot believe what has happened as if I am refused I may not have a reason for my appeal if right of appeal is given. I had only one year to ilr and i may have blown it. I am so down. I have been here for 10 years, 6 as student and 4 as wp ...

Awaiting possible refusal/invalid application due to mistake

Status before application: Occupation: Teacher, whose job role is no longer on the shortage list. Work Permit Holder for the last 4 years working for the same employer doing the same job (Under Old System of Work Permits) I think i made an error on the tier 2 application form as instead of claiming/...
