If you've paid them for a service, they should be helping you! Not saying not to ask here too - but get your money's worth! I thought not proving you're english could only be due to the passport copy not being notarised??? I think you need to do as suggested and type out the actual refusal, in exact...

was your passport photocopy notarised?
Did you send proof of the size of your dad's house, proof of ownership/tenancy and a letter from him/landlord saying it was ok for you two to stay?

How I got spouse visa from Canberra, funds, waiting times

Hi all, I found it really frustrating searching high and low for UK spouse visa info relevant to Australians and I vowed I'd post info on my own application once it was successful - I'm now in the UK, so here it is! Applied: July 14, 2010, Canberra. Approval took 46 working days. I had lived in UK p...

We applied in Australia and only sent the applicant's 3 months of bank statements, not the sponsor's. I spoke to them on the hotline beforehand and they said one set, applicant or sponsor, was fine. Each country has different requirements, so depends on China's. EDIT: Sorry, I'm talking about a spou...

Actually... I should qualify myself by saying that as long as you aren't going to split up with your partner in the next few years, THEN I don't see the benefits to staying on a WP!! 8)

It sounds like that they are saying is that you still have ILR and therefore they cannot issue you with another visa as you do not require one as your ILR is still valid. But if his ILR was still valid he'd be classed as a returning resident? And they say he isn't. This is the paragraph the decisio...

Hi, I wonder how much sense it makes for your wife to come to the UK and find a job, only to leave soon after and return home for several months to apply for her son's visa? It may take her a while to find work. And would you tell an employer that she plans on leaving in a few months anyway? Plus th...

No, it's not. But you're starting out from the premise that they exist to be helpful. Which is a a false one.

It's the time of year, and the fact people are rushing to submit applications now before changes come in, perhaps. Times EVERYWHERE go up in June/July... Australia is taking three months. And I haven't seen my husband in six. You aren't the only one! Also, I always think the fast decisions are proba...

Yes, get notarised copies of the entry and exit stamps, for sure. Lucky for us, our stamps were on the opposite page - no extra cost. :) One thing - batleykhan, not all solicitors are notaries, am I right? We were told we couldn't just get a justice of the peace or someone like that to certify our c...

Not in australia - we are the exception perhaps! Especially at this time of year. Only 12 per cent processed within six weeks in June, and from what I hear it's averaging around 11 weeks right now. Infuriating.

Actually, that isn't correct - in australia they will tell you via email if your application is successful, and you'll get your docs back within three days. If you're unsuccessful, you get the email you did, as you know!
