Passport validity when entering the UK

I am due to travel to my home country for a couple of weeks for Christmas.
By the time I get back in January, my passport will only be valid for about three months.
Will I be able to re-enter the UK or do I need to get it renewed before I travel?

Re: How the money must be used

Thanks for your post Rahul Singh. Is it only in the case of a Director's Loan that you can transfer the amount to the company and not spend it before the time of extension? As in, does the money invested as share capital have to be fully spent at the time of extension? Also, which UKBA email id did ...

Instead of adding more and more employment creation requirements, why don't they first explain the ambiguous points in the rest of the guidance (regarding investments)?

If anybody has UKBA's email ID then I'd be happy to send an email to them.

I made a thread about this in June. This extra line has been in the case workers' guidance since June at least.

Re: Employment after extension of tier 1 entrepreneur

Congratulations! Did you spend the entire £200K through your business, or did you just invest it (as a loan to the business or shares)? Thanks. I put the whole money into the account and show it by shares. Then use the whole capital or part of it to do the business. Always keep the capital there. T...

The document showing that the business exists should be dated sometime in the past three months. Your business can be older than three months.

Is it possible to write to the Home Office to clarify this?
If anyone has an email ID that we can write to, please do let me know.

Does anyone have an email address through which we can contact the UKBA to receive a clarification on what expenses are counted for the purpose of extension?

Re: Payments not considered for extension (except own salary

^^ Thank you for your help. I was curious because my company had a significant tax bill for the first year. As accounting is done on an accrual basis, some of the revenue earned for the period had not been received. The business had to pay tax on amounts that had not been received and therefore I us...

Re: Payments not considered for extension (except own salary

^^ Of course, I am not saying tax liability is investment. The investment is only the amount that has been provided to the company through a Director's loan or share capital. Then that amount must be spent towards paying off business liabilities and expenses, but certain expenses and purchases are e...

^^ But what if you use the amount invested towards paying corporation tax? I don't think that will be counted as amount spent either.

If you've spent the funds invested on salary instead of paying it from the revenue generated, then it's considered for extension.

Payments not considered for extension (except own salary)

The business must spend £50,000 over three years, but certain payments are excluded when calculating the total amount spent. Everything other than the following counts as investment/amount spent, right?- -Own salary/dividends -money paid to former owner to purchase a business -money invested in purc...

But what if your business didn't need the entire 50,000, and a small amount is left in the business account. Do you have to spend it for the sake of extension?!

Re: TIER 1 EXTENSION APPLICANTS PLEASE JOIN HERE

I have a question for everyone here who has applied for extension.
Before applying for extension, did you spend all the money? As in, you didn't just inject cash into the business, but used the entire amount for expenses/purchase of capital/wages, etc (excluding your own salary)?

Thanks in advance!

Hi sweetjane,

Have you applied for an extension?
If so, did you spend the entire £50,000/£200,000?

Thanks.

Extension applications-Entire 50,000 should have been spent?

For extension applications, does the business have to spend (and not just invest through loans/shares) the entire £50,000?

Are they sending letters or emails?
Many people move from time to time, so it may be possible that the letters never reach the visa holders.
