To be honest, this problem happened only in Glasgow. I dont know why the staffs in Glasgow behave like this. I suggest you to go to another city. In addition, currently there is a £100 deposit for appointment you should pay.

In this case, I take the UKBA's side, because they have put a warning on their website since I applied for my initial visa saying that people shouldn't apply more than a month before their visas expire. But people continued to disregard it and now that they are starting to enforce this, We are not ...

The rules haven't changed in this regard at all. The rules are simply just being applied slightly differently compared to before. If you apply within 28 days of your expiry of current leave (as per the warning which has been on the UKBA site for more than two years now!), then there isn't much to w...

You are both wrong. First of all Tier 1 Guidance is not immigration rule. Nothing in Immigration rules is said about when to apply therefore it is only some technical guidance by UKBA. Could you please show me in which part of immigration rules it is mentioned? it is only mentioned in Tier 1 Guidanc...

New rules

One of my friend just applied for extension today at Glasgow. His current leave will expire in 12 days but they grant him a new leave from today and not from expiry of the visa!!!! I cannot understand this new changes. Then, if you want to have 5 years in full you should apply on the last day of you...

The problem is that for this visa there is no real intended date as it is a permanent route and you are supposed to live with your EEA spouse permanently. Therefore, what could you put as intended date? There are many other problem in VAF5 form. For example in declaration part there are section rega...

Thank you.

Yeah, I agree with you as there is no provision in rules for refusing EEA Permit because of length of stay!!!

I put Permanent and explained in a cover letter. I put leaving date 6 months after but again explained the matter.

There are many problems in UKBA forms.

Thank you for your answer. I have another question in VAF5 application form. There are some questions in Part 1 about length of stay, date of travel and date of leaving the UK. I dont have any problem about date of travel but what should I put for length of stay and date of leaving the UK? I know th...

Original Passport

Hi,

If in EEA permit application, non-EEA applicant submits the original passport of the EEA national, s/he still has to provide the copy of passport endorsed by the embassy of the EEA national country?

Thanks in advance

Dependency Question

Hi All, I have a question for EEA permit for spouse of EEA national. Is it required according to the rules that non-EEA spouse should be dependent on EEA national? It is a bit unclear in the guidance. It is said that no documents needed for this purpose but it is not clear that if this requirement s...

These changes are meaningless and I think all of them can be challenged in Court or European courts as they are not fair and none of us were aware of such things when we were absent from UK in the previous years. All of us left the UK on assumption that there will be no need to provide any document ...

Contacting UKBA

Hi, UKBA changed the phone number system. In the past you were put in a queue until someone spoke to you. But now, it is saying as all advisers are busy please call back later and then the call ended. I think it is ridiculous as you have to call back many time, pay telephone charges and it is imposs...

earning question

Hi I have a question about my friend's salary. She is going to apply for Tier 1 General extension: She is going to claim for 18/01/2012-17/01/2013 (the period is a bit strange as the salary is for overseas) she paid salary for the month 20/12/2011-19/01/2012 on 22/01/2012. So, the salary for a month...

No sane entrepreneur would keep idle cash/funds lying around in a personal/busin...

It is certainly a bad news. They did the same for Tier 4 and established the Genuine Test and now Tier 4 is no longer a PBS as everything becomes dependent on Visa Officer judgement (in contrary to the philosophy of Tier 4). Recently, there have been many cases of refusals for Tier 4 due to the new ...

It depends on you. If you are confident and now the rules then there is no need to bring any adviser. If you are not sure and there are points in your case that may need more explanations (and you are unable of that) you can bring an adviser.

Dear All, I've got my extension on 7th Jan in Croydon. Appointment 9:00 AM got the approval letter on 10:30 AM Today I received the BRP for myself and my husband. The only point is that on my husband's card only mentioned PBS Dependent and not Tier 1 General Dependent. Then, do you think it is a pro...

1-I agree about straightforward application for in person application. But are all of the postal application not straightforward? Many of them are as easy as in person one and again takes ages to be processed. 2-UKBA can employ many more caseworker to address this problem. They charge the highest ap...
