Hi,

I just surrendered my wife's passport on her behalf. They asked for the authority letter which I had taken. You can find a sample on the HCI website.

Re: Per Diem and Citizenship

Hi,

Just as an update, my wife's application got approved today. We did declare in the form that she worked in the UK in 2007 but did not provide any explanation on NI/tax etc. I guessed that if they need to know more they can ask HMRC.

Re: English Language Requirement

It hasn't gone through yet. The payment has been taken today, but what you have been through, it is very likely that I may get the same letter, but I did keep my PBS calculator print out with me, so I can send that, but I just don't understand it.

Re: English Language Requirement

This is crazy. I had submitted my application via NCS in March and had provided a print out of the points based calculator. The NCS guy specifically removed it saying that since home office is anyways removing the PBS calculator soon, they don't need this and only a copy of my degree certificate wil...

Re: Amended Returns and Citizenship

@cs95tdg: many thanks for your insights. I read this document long back in 2012, when I was applying for my Tier 1 extension wherein I changed my intenttion to stay long term in the UK and as such changed the tax treatment. I was looking for it again to understand what I did back then, but could not...

Re: Amended Returns and Citizenship

@cs95tdg: thank you very much for your reply. You have rightly pointed out the statement which I am concerned about. The reason I did was because when I cam to the UK I had no intention of residing in the UK for long term. I also came to the UK first as an expat, which is why the accountant advised ...

Re: Amended Returns and Citizenship

Thanks again noajthan. I did read this document and it is very high level especially for people who are employed. I read another document (link below) which suggests that HMRC records are only checked for some requests only. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/2...

Re: Per Diem and Citizenship

Many thanks for your prompt responses. @CR001: She was paid in the UK @noajthan: You are absolutely right. There is no intention to hide any information. What I am confused is about the company not paying taxes and NI at that time for which my wife may get ppenalized now. Just to note she did not ha...

Re: Information regarding the Language requirements

Hello,

I am in a similar situation. My wife took the english test, which is now in the transition list. She took the test in Feb 2015 and we got her ILR based on that. When applying for citizenship next year, will she have to re-take the english test from one of the approved ones??
