Switching from Tier 4 to Spouse Visa inside UK

Hi

I am currently on a Tier 4 visa , which the visa due to expire in June 2012. its a years university course.

Will i be able to switch my status to Spouse Visa while inside UK or will this have to be done from the home country only?

If you Irish issued residence card is still valid, you may enter Schengen with that. If not, then you will need a visa. Quick questions,

I am considering applying for EEA2 visa for my wife, but I need to travel urgently. When do they send all the documents back , is with the COA or once the RC is issued?

I understand if you ask for the passports early the process stops altogether!
