Re: Magistrate Court for council tax arrears

Any idea if the new law will affect 14 years case??? This new requirement will (also) be added to immigration rule 276B (see point 88 in the statement of changes ). Suspended sentences have the same rehabilitation period as sentences served. Therefore, if I cannot submit by 6 April, then I have to ...

Re: Magistrate Court for council tax arrears

In the court paper, we were ordered to pay a fix amount and 29 days supended sentence. Suspended sentences have the same rehabilitation period as sentences served. I want to know if it counts for criminal record ??? In my personal opinion, yes. Please forgive me if I am a bit thick!! I have read an...

In the court paper, we were ordered to pay a fix amount and 29 days supended sentence. I want to know if it counts for ...

Re: news, good/bad

Hi lumera, thank you very much. You are very kind person. I have contacted another solicitor, Victioria on the other forum. She is going to help us and trying to sort the mess out. Now, even as she said, my solicitor might not even enclosed our life in the UK test to UKBA. Therefore, it ended up onl...

Re: news, good/bad

I have asked him to send us a copy of passport to us. Yes, I know we shouldn't get DL instead of ILR. I don't know if it was because he didn't enclosed life in the UK test. I don't think it was because ILR refusal then we got DL instead. If it was the reason, UKBA should state on the letter.

Re: news, good/bad

@ chorc123 I'm confused and you have left me scratching my head. Is the £2700 you are owing part of the £4500 he initially quoted? Quoting kiwigirl from the first page of this thread - "A good OICS qualified solicitor would never withhold a clients passport or visa documents. It's unlawful!!...

Re: news, good/bad

when you agreed with the solicitor, did you make it clear that you wanted ILR only? Because it seems your solicitor used form FLR(O) instead. There is no requirement for you be legalised to get ILR under 14 year residence.[/quote] well, when I was at his office last time, he said, he will apply for ...

news, good/bad

After exactly 1 years waiting time, we have finally received positive news from UKBA. However, we are granted Discretionary leave to remain. Actucally, very bad new. We were told by solicitor that he filed our case was just to legalised our status. Then, the next thing is pay him extra £ 2700. Then...

No am not British, I'm an international student. I don't know then. It might take a long time to legalised your partner's case, then your child, and finally yours. 14 years case can't apply with spouse. (as far as I know!!!). I think you should keep your visa up to date ( until your partner got ILR...

Just one more advice, you need to find out if UKBA caseworker is ACTUALLY dealing with you case. If you are still in the queue, then there is not much you can do. Then just wait for your turn.
My story is different from you, read the forum above. However, me and my partner are still waiting.

I know some people are very harsh on this subject--14 years rule. However, if you read through this forum, some people got it very quick even they are illegal entrants at the beginning. Some people have to wait for ages even there was no fault documents at all. Some others just forces to end up at 1...

Hi, I think you are better to look for a good solicitor to deal with the case. I heard somebody hired a solicitor and paid by legal aid for 14 years case. It was sucessful and granted ILR.
