My wife came to UK in November 2008. We are going to apply for the joint ILR in Sept. 2011. I am on Tier 1 visa. Could some one please advise if my wife can apply for the ILR with me next year.

Thanks,
Your wife would have been on T1 dependant for > 2 years, so I do not see a problem here.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply. Good to know that dependant's absences from the UK are not taken into account. I assume I have to fill only one Form SET(O) for myself, my wife and my child (born in the UK) and not seperate for each? As a related question, is there any validity period for Life in t...

ILR for dependant spouse - time outside UK

Firstly, are there are any restrictions as to number of days spent outside the UK for dependants if they are not economically active in the UK. Secondly, even for main applicants is the limit 180 or 450? I will be applying as Wor...

When question(s) cannot be answered due to the fact that the applicant is born in the UK, common sense suggests that you state the same - "applicant born in the UK" in response to such questions! One of the parents should sign the form (as normal). regards Thanks for the quick response. R...
