Re: Applying for British passport with an expired passport

Just to confirm - if my wife applied with that expired passport without renewing it then this will no way hinder the naturalization application? The fact that my wife is in the UK whilst her passport is expired should be obvious in terms of the residency requirements and how much time she has spent ...

Re: Applying for British passport with an expired passport

She don't need to extend her Pakistani passport. She can apply for NICOP and use it with her British passport when travelling to Pakistan as it allows visa free entry. just to double check that you are saying it will be fine when applying for British passport. I am more concerned about her British ...

Re: Applying for British passport with an expired passport

That passport will be fine. On a separate note, since Pakistan allows dual nationality, id suggest renewing it at the embassy in London if she decided to go to Pakistan. just to double check that you are saying it will be fine when applying for British passport. (P.S. I live in Manchester and I thi...

Is there a way to verify the ILR BRP card is authentic?

Hi Everyone I was asked this question by someone (for employment purposes I think) - Is there a way to verify the ILR BRP card is authentic and not an unauthentic one? My answer was that when my wife got her BRP card, she received a standard Home Office Letter and also she applied for ILR via appoin...

Re: Have ILR and returning from Pakistan 4 months before PP

You are stressing for no reason at all. Her passport will be valid on the date she arrives. They are interested in both passport and ILR because she is not British and has to have permission to enter the UK. Thanks CR001 - I promise it will be the end of this topic...I just dont trust the UKBA or w...

Hi CR001 Thanks once again for your reply - I appreciate your advise and you taking the time out to reply!!! Re: Applying for British PP with expired current PP

It is not important if her passport has expired or not long as long as it shows the days she was present/absent in UK in regards to residency requirement. Hi Milan69 Many thanks for your reply. OK, I get what you are saying - for some reason I thought the passport was for ID purposes and for her se...

Applying for British PP with expired current PP

Hi Everyone My wife's Pakistani passport (which contains her settlement visa stamp) will expire under 6 months time (August) and she intends to apply for British passport/naturalization just before this - maybe May/June/July time. At this point in time she doesn't see the point of renewing her Pakis...

there just no 6 months expiry rule Hi CR001 :) Many thanks for your response. It seems I am worrying unnecessarily about my wife returning to the UK!!! Just 2 more questions 1) Will they double check her original and now expired spouse/settlement visa in her passport or will they just check the BRP...

Re: Have ILR and returning from Pakistan 4 months before PP

My question is will she still be able to return to the UK because she only has 4 months left on her Pakistani passport Yes Can the immigration authorities reject her ILR or cancel her ILR at the airport? Probably only if she has been absent from the UK for 2 years. Hi CR001 Many thanks for your rep...

Re: Can you book more than one life in the UK test?

No, ILR has been a requirement for a few years now. But as she did ESOL, she will need to do LIUK again separately. You don't need proof of address. She got ILR early 2013 but life in the UK was not a requirement then for ILR. She did Esol as per requirement then. For naturalization she needs to do...

Re: Can you book more than one life in the UK test?

Is this for your spouse's naturalisation application? Surely she did LIUK for her ILR? http://www.immigrationboards.com/british-citizenship/a-couple-of-questions-regarding-naturalisation-t176644.html#p1116944 No - she got her ILR early 2013 and LITUK was not requirement then - just ESOL was. I thin...

Re: Can you book more than one life in the UK test?

Is there time limit for the proof of address.

I have a bank statement which is 6 months old - is that ok?

Also I have a BT bill but I notice that telephone bill is not on the required proof list - will a telephone statement be ok to use?

Many Thanks
