Re: SET(LR) Application

Dear CR001, Many many thanks for a super-prompt reply (and that too on a Sunday). Full brownie-points to you. I finish 10 years in Jun 2021 and the earliest I can actually apply is May 2021. Does it make sense starting a dummy application now and seeing how things stand between now and then and fina...

Re: SET(LR) Application

Hi CR001, Thanks for the reply. UKVI are the best people to know the rules but I thought it would be worth asking given that by including actual dates of travel, the number goes above 540. Ona different note altogether - is there a way i could start my application process online on my own to try and...

Re: SET(LR) Application

Hi poper, Thanks for your reply. You may be over-thinking this unless you have excessive absences. The application form asks for entry and exit dates of your travels. You do not need to calculate this yourself unless you are close to hitting a single absence of 180 days or overall absence of 540 day...

Re: SET(LR) Application

Hi ajitu92 (and others), Is there any reference to the clause or rule that clarifies this point about "full-day absences" vs. "part-day-absences"? If so, could you please share the link to the same? Also, is there a sample of a cover letter or details about what to put in it, tha...

Re: SET(LR) Application

Thank you CR001, schen and poper. Great answers and all very helpful. Can I please ask as on what basis are the absences calculated? For example, if I depart from UK on Monday 01-Jun-2020 and return back on Friday 05-Jun-2020, does that count had 5 days of absence or only 3days of absence (as I was ...

SET(LR) Application

Hi, I (and my family) have been in the UK since June 2011 starting with a Tier 2 (ICT) and then switching in to a Tier 2 (General) in 2017 while still in the UK. I am now planning to apply for ILR using the long residence route. While reading up the eligibility criteria for continuous residence, the...

Re: ILR for Tier 2 ICT

HI poper, Thanks for replying. The Tier 2 ICt in 2011 was a fresh application as my previous Work permitvstyle visa had expired end of dec 2010. I was looking at some of the other cases and there were people who had similar situations and one of them even had 550 days gal between their two stints. I...

Re: ILR for Tier 2 ICT

my dear friend , your case is almost similar to me except that I extended my stay in 2009 and you have applied for entry clearance in 2008 . from the dates you have given it seems you have continuous visa since 207 . you can apply for ILR since you have been continuously in UK since may 2011 . Hi m...

Re: Can Tier 2 ICT visa issued Sep 2010 change sponsors?

Hi Vanessa F, I am not an expert but this is what I have understood of the rules and regulations. As your ICT was issued in Sep 2010, it must be under the Established Staff category which was the catgeory used between 6-Apr-2010 and 5-Apr-2011. Assuming that the visa was ICT Established Staff and th...

Re: Cooling off exemption to switch to Tier2 General

Hi There, I need an advice. I am currently working in UK on Tier-2 ICT Visa since Apr 2014. Can my visa be switched to Tier 2 General, if my salary is more than 155K with the current employer. Do I need to serve 12 months cooling period with 155K+ salary ? Looking forward to your responses. Thank y...

Re: Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General

Hi, On my original questions, while my Tier 2 ICT visa was issued under the "Established Staff" category (and hence, must have been processed before 6-Apr-2011), my dependants applications was filed separately after 6-Apr-2011 and they got a visa under Tier 2 ICT Long-Term Staff Dependants...

Re: Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General

Hi poper, Thanks for sharing details of SAR; I had no idea we could get these details. When you say that my dependants will need to qualify on their own merit, what exactly do you mean? My wife and kids came with me in 2011 though their visa application was made after mine. What impact does my switc...

Hi, Start by thanking all who read my post and respond to my queries. I came to UK in 2011 on a Tier 2 (ICT; Established Staff) visa. The visa start date mentioned on the visa was 13-Apr-2011 but as my visa was of the Established Staff category, my understanding is that it was issued under the rule...

Post Graduate Diploma

Hi Everyone, My case is slightly peculiar: I hold a 2-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) certificate from a B-school in India. The same B-school has a tie-up with Southern New Hampshire University (erstwhile New Hampshire University) whereby they have awarded me ...
