Re: Passport refused - uncancelled passport in maiden name

What do I do, if the foreign country are not responding to my request to cancel my expired passport that is my maiden name?

Would a cover letter with the uncancelled / expired passport suffice to have the first BP in the married name.

Naturalisation Assumptions

Hi,

Is it safe to assume that if the UKBA invites you to enrol your Biometrics for the naturalisation application and acknowledges the submitted application that it's well on it's way to be granted or am I just assuming something that happens as standard.

Regards

Re: Form AN: 5. Referees and Identity

Thanks to the people who have posted and found this whole section that helps clarify the situation. The referees are there to identify and maybe contacted to confirm, and should this not suffice further request for an additional referee is requested. 6.3.7 Referees - Qualifications 6.3.7.1 All appli...

Re: Form AN: 5. Referees and Identity

The referee part of it should be the least of our issues, paying the increased fee of just over £1000 should be the bigger challenge.
Does £30.00 reflect an appropriate fee from a Doctor to complete the referee section?

Re: Form AN: 5. Referees and Identity

If you read through the accepted referees for BC applications, you will see that 'Doctor' has been removed from the list. Assuming you were intending to use your GP as a professional referee. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/421217/Chapter_6_A_Referees_-_lis...

Re: Form AN: 5. Referees and Identity

noajthan - Thanks for clarifying (my friend will be acting as referee for the Director of a company) and my GP or someone over 25 will act as the secondary. The section in the form is generic so the reference can be added either way around but satisfying the said rule. So let me get this right, prov...

Re: Form AN: 5. Referees and Identity

Our Doctor has known my wife since she has entered the UK (Aug 2011), but knows her from when she visits the surgery and at times when my wife was expecting, he suggests paying £30.00 for the service.

Will the GP/Doctor suffice?

Re: Naturalisation referee gave his office address - is that

I asked my GP to be my referee and sign the naturalisaion form. He signed the form but gave his office address when he filled line 5.6 (Address). He also put his stamp there with his name and address. 2 questions. 1. Is it acceptable for a referee to give his professional address rather than home a...

Form AN: 5. Referees and Identity

Hi all My Spouse is due to be applying for her Naturalisation but have now stumbled across the following Section (Section 5) For the first Referee, can my other half use someone from her place of birth to be used in the section as shown below? Re: First British Passport

Thanks for your reply.

The only document that will show her married surname will be the naturalisation certificate, and maybe her bank records.

Lets hope the Cancelled foreign passport process helps have her British passport being issued.

Thanks again.

Re: First British Passport

Hi again Thank you for clarifying that. When we get round to applying for the first passport we will submit other documentary evidence other than the passport which is in the maiden name to avoid any sort of issue. We want my wife to be able to naturalise in her married surname and drop her maiden n...

Re: First British Passport

They should review the current process so it saves time and hassle for all the new citizens to make it easier. It's hard enough to come in to the country as a spouse, then apply for Indefinite leave, then go through the process of the life in the UK and not to mention to demonstrate your English, a...
