Just an update, i apply for citizenship for my son on the 27th and INIS have acknowledge it today with the ref. number and so on. thats very quick. i think they are doing a great job there now. thanks. Wow that's too fast, I remember my son's application aknowledgment took 4 weeks back on september

based on my experience you can fly and back to Ireland without any problem just keep copy of the card and the letter from the citizenship department. it happened with me and my wife as well.

For the children of a naturalized person to gain the Irish citizenship, the naturalized parent has to be registered on the foriegn birth register at the moment of the child birth ( I'm not sure but someone can correct me if I'm wrong)

No need to have your GNIB card with you while you are travling if you have your correspondance with you and just make a copy of the card. I traveled and entered Ireland 2 times without having my card with me just I had the approval letter and a copy of the card.\ best of luck Do they cross-question...
