The lady actually said they are just preparing my file but has not send to the minister yet because they are waiting for more files from other applicant together before they send it over. I sent my further documents on 04/05/2011 upon their request,
I rang them end of May they told me my file is wit the minister then I got the approval on mid June 2011 so it took 6 weeks.

IT WAS 4 TO 6 MONTHS BEFORE TO GET THE APPROVAL, WHAT ABOUT NOW?

they do not offer extensions. however, if you go to the passport office with all the necessary documentation, and proof of travel, the passport would issue quicker. I once had to get my child's irish passport in a day, and with an additional fee, got it the same day (our plane was on that evening)....

it took 6 weeks
I sent the documents on 14 July and received the certificate on 22 Aug.
