Do i have to wear a suit and tie for a citizenship ceremony? I would like to wear trousers, a shirt, jumper and no tie. Would that be ok?

If I apply by check and send (post office) and don't have passport copies verified by a solicitor, do I need to send the current passport or do they just check it the same way checking service checks and returns it right away?

What if I become a British Citizen and have to go abroad before applying for my first British passport? Can I use my foreign passport with an ILR sticker to return to the country?

Thanks!

I have requested an application form from IPS but it's going to take them a few days to send it.

I just wanted to see the entire form as a document before I apply to make sure I have all the necessary information. Is there a pdf document anywhere online?

this is real nonsence. Most people (include me) on this forum apply the same day they receive thier naturalisation certificate.
But how do you get a countersignature on your passport application on the same day?

Passport application form and process

I tried to find an application form for the first UK passport after naturalisation. The only thing I found was a web site where you submit an application online. I'm not sure how it works and how I can get somebody to countersign my online application. Can somebody please give me a link to a pdf app...

Called them today to enquire about the application, but got a reply back stating that the average time is 6 months!!!! That's what they normally say. I got the same feedback from them even though the citizenship invitation letter had already been sent out! However, once I had produced an excuse for...

I am worried that I am not 100% sure whether or not the British government considers me married or divorced. So you did not like my answers? This is actually very simple. You got married? Yes? Your have not got divorced (in the eyes of UK law)! So unless your spouse has died, you are still married!...

You don't need to provide any evidence of being married, or the marriage certificate. After all you are not applying on the basis of marriage to a British Citizen, are you. In short you are worrying about something that is nothing to worry about. I am worried that I am not 100% sure whether or not ...

You post at 1.30.am, and post a reminder at 8.27.am! Do you realise that people are allowed to sleep and they are not obliged to look at this board as soon as they wake up! In the eyes of UK law you are not divorced. You are still married, and whilst that tells you what to put on the form AN, it al...

Divorced, applying for citizenship, don't know what to write

I was married when I entered the UK and then got divorced a couple of yours ago. My ex-wife and I are both foreign citizens. I am preparing an application for naturalisation which is not based on marriage. My ex has left the country and does not intend to apply for British citizenship with me. We go...
