Hi cs95tdg, Thanks for your reply and pointers. I am clear on point 3 of my initial queries but still not sure regarding points 1 and 2. I had read the guideline for calculating continuous periods for settlement before raising my queries. I am a bit confused by what is meant by compelling and compas...

Evidence of Absence during period of continuous stay for ILR

Hi All, Apologies if this has been covered already, in which case I would be grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction. I did try to search the forum but didn't come across any which clarified my queries. My partner is on a Tier-1 visa and would be eligible for ILR towards the end of th...

Thanks everyone.

I have submitted the appeal papers to the POST, but it seems even getting an appeal reference takes 10 working days.

In response to allgo, No I did not submit coloured scans.

Shazad80, how much time did it take for you to get an acknowledgement of your appeal?

Sorry to post on such an old chain. My wife and daughter have been refused entry as we hadn't submitted the originals as advised by the VFS offier. Can somebody guide me on how to fill the appeal form? I am planning to send the originals for all the supporting documents supplied. Should I send the p...

The official reason for refusal provided is "Non submission of Original documents". The ECO sys that my spouse refused to submit the originals wheres the reality is that the VFS officer said either would do and there is no difference.

I am not sure what I should do now?

Shifting to dependant status

My spouse accompanied me to UK as my dependant, I then shifted Tier 1 and my spouse also shifted to Tier 1 dependant. Spouse was then sponsered by the company for WP, but then had to shift to Tier 1 due to some work issues. My child is currently a dependant on my spouse's visa. I plan to get them sh...

Thanks for the reply, in my case my spouse accompanied me when I came over. So has completed 5 years though in a combination of categories, but as spouse will be applying as my dependant my understanding is that they only need to show 2 years of living together at the same address. Don't believe the...

Thanks for the clarification. so if my spouse and child were to go to home country and get EC as my dependant on Tier 1, then can they apply for ILR at the same time as myself or are there any additional criteria's to be met? Also what would the scenario be if they did not apply for ILR or FLR now b...

Re: Spouse & Dependant child eligibility for ILR

Thanks for all the response.

I am currently on Tier 1.

Got another question, Can they apply for ILR as my dependants once I have taken ILR myself? would they still need to go back to home country?
