Hello, I would also like to add that you may want to consider switching into your Tier 2 (?) or other current work category as soon as possible. I was in a very similar situation, a work permit holder which was due to run out at the beginning of October. My employer and I also went initially to swit...

Hi B,

I do not know from personal experience, but posts from other users suggest that this is bog standard. At least you received a letter in with your documents, some people seem don't seem to get even that much!

All the best,

Hiya, I used my P60 forms as well for last 5 years. I used my last year's payslips as proof of finances as I bank online rather than receive paper statements. It did say bank statements OR payslips on the application. I will keep the forum updated if UKBA finds that unacceptable. As yet, still waiti...

I also tried to access this site just last night. I work off a MacBook, OS 10.5.2. Just a page of java script came up on the page. Unable to view or download anything. Definitely not accessible for the masses yet!

Options if Settlement Refused..

Hello, I'm sure I am just being type A and over-worrying, but if my settlement is refused on whatever grounds, do I have the following option(s)...? 1) Staying on if my employer were to hire me as a Tier 2 general employee? They are already a registered sponsor, they would just need to make further ...

Ok, found answer under 'Claiming Benefits' forum. Fine to claim the 25% discount as a single occupant, not a problem for ILR according to moderator John. Yay!

I have a related query, so maybe this thread will be of benefit to others :) I did submit my council tax bills for the last 5 years with my SET(O). But am worried now about having claimed a single occupant discount which was advised to me when I first started paying, both by the local council/govern...

Hiya, Do you have any letters from HO following the withdrawal of your first work permit? Anything in writing stating you had a certain number of days to finalise your second work permit? I think it comes down to lawful residency during the 5 years and that you have been 'economically active' (as ot...

Hello, I rang UKBA about this as it had been so long since I had left the country. Obvioulsy working to many hours and not having enough fun :/ They said to guess the departure and return dates. None of the dates were stamped in my passport because it was to my country of origin and then back to the...

Hi Swasel, I have just posted my query on the boards. It does vary slightly from yours in that the visa/WP gap was before my 5 year qualifying residency period. But as you can see, it may cause some confusion to my case worker due to dates entered on the application. My SET(O) application was sent 3...

Hi Sush, Definitely agree...hindsight is always 20/20 isn't it? :( Unfortunately, I took the question on the application form quite literally (it does ask when you first 'arrived' in the UK) and did not include a cover letter at the time of application. In the absence of even having an ACK letter, i...

SET(O) for 5 Yr WP Query...

Hello, I have just recently submitted my SET(O) by post for ILR (still no ACK letter though payment quickly taken :/). My query is over a break in WP status before my most recent continuous 5 year WP on Limited Leave to Remain. Details: Arrived in May 2003, valid WP until left that employment/was hi...

Please keep us posted of your outcome as I am awaiting my settlement case decision and have a similar predicament...
