I wouldn't think so. Why would America be better for you than Britain? Usually people get asylum for obvious reasons that make sense that one would never want to return to their home country. I don't think schizophrenia will work to get asylum.

Do you know of any friends that have moved to the US? I would ask them how they did it and how hard it was. I know a few British people who have moved to the US permanently. I'll have to ask them how they did it.

There would probably be a record somewhere that you flew out of the country. I don't know if there is a scan on your passport or whether the info is taken when you purchase the flight ticket. If you are applying for a US visa, they will perform all the necessary background checks. Of course, it would help to cooperate with them and answer all questions. As far as criminal pasts, I don't believe rehabilitation is recognized.

If you are not working in Turkey, do you need a visa? I thought a passport would be enough for 10-days. What is the number of days when one needs a visa when traveling in Turkey?
