How soon can someone with 14 years ILR apply for BC?

Dear Seniors, Please I was asked this question by someone but I could not find the answer despite trawling through similar posts on this website! A woman who was granted ILR on the basis of 14 years stay in the UK in May 2013, asked me to confirm if she is eligible to apply for British Citizenship a...

Re: Lost passport and settlement visa

Dear Robyn.88 I sympathise with you and your husband over the loss of his passport/settlement visa. However, I must quickly add that it can still be found despite the number of searches all of you have made. I am saying this from experience because however careful anyone is, having a missing stuff o...

Re: 14 years ILR and naturalisation etc

Dear Lucapooka and D4109125 Thank you for your prompt replies. By the time I applied for 14 years ILR, I was already an overstayer. I came into UK in December 1998 on a visit visa which I was able to extend to the year 2000. So, apparently, I was legal up till the year 2000. I tried to change over t...

Dear seniors Please I need your advice and help over this issue. I have ILR and so, I know that I am allowed to work in the UK. But whilst applying for jobs, some of the job posts have openings in other European countries and the application form asks if the applicant is free to work in the EU etc. ...

?Spousal visa financial requirement of £18,600 reduced etc.

Please I need some clarification about the position of things about the financial requirement. I was told recently that following protests, the UKBA had been forced to reduce the financial requirement of a sponsor for a spousal visa from the £18,600 it was originally to some more reasonable amount. ...

UKBA to be scrapped: How does it affect our 14 years ILR?etc

Dear members UKBA is to be scrapped in the near future. Important info for those affected by the 14 years rule

Members of this forum who depend on the 14 years rule to regularise their stay in UK must have heard about the "statement of intent" of the UKBA which wants to scrap it on the 9th July 2012! Well, all is not lost! The "statement of intent" has still to be tabled before the parlia...

Thank you diggingdeep and chorc123 for your posts. It is not easy for anyone to wait for about 14 years to obtain ILR. You have done well to involve your MPs. I believe there must be a remedy for people who depended on this route. We are not saying that the UKBA cannot change it`s rule BUT we are sa...
