Got Certificate of Naturalization, do I HAVE TO get passport

Already got Certificate of Naturalization, do I have to apply for passport straight away? Is there a time limit?

I still got my original country's passport with ILR, and can use that to get in and out the country right?

Possible gaps for BNO holder

Looking for advice for a friend of mine. She's holding BNO and Hong Kong SAR passport, and hoping to apply ILR through 10yr long residence. There were 2 possible gaps that could be an issue. 1, Sent postal application for extending student visa about 10 days late because she was getting a new passpo...

I was in similar situation, and from my experience, you should mention the following points in your employer letter. 1, the job title on your WP (Graduate Structural Engineer) 2, your current actual job title (Structural Engineer) 3, after examining the COP list, "Civil Engineer" with &quo...

According to your previous post you are on T1G for 5 years right?

I am no expert but I think you are right, the 1 year between ILR and naturalization starts from the day you get your ILR not the day you applied. But unless you wish to leave UK after that, not sure what the difference is.

Would there ever be a day that ILR could be cancelled?

I've just got my ILR, and because my country of origin does not allow dual nationality, and I don't want to lose my original nationality just yet, which means I will probably stay on ILR for a long time. Is it possible that this could happen, that people on ILR would be asked to either apply for Bri...

Does clause 195 means my employer needs to do a new resident labour market test? Great, there won't be enough time if that's the case.

So you mean the reason I should do "change of employment" rather than an extension as clause 197 is because my current job doesn't fit what's on my original WP right? which is also the reason I can't get the ILR? So what's the chance the application for "change of employment" wou...

Work Permit switching into Tier 2

I'm currently on 5-year old work permit, if I can't get ILR because of salary issues, can I switch into Tier 2 with the same employer? Employer is licenced. And does that rule "need to be paid either £20k or according to COP whichever is higher" apply to this kind of situation? And is it t...

So if I were to apply to switch in to Tier 2 now, would my old job title on WP be a problem? Obviously I would have to choose one from the current COP, say the 3114 for the Tier 2, would the difference between that and my old job title prevent me from switching in to Tier 2? On another note, in the ...

Work Permit-Job title-ILR

I can only say I am a bit shocked by what happened yesterday. I applied Premium service ILR through my immigration advisor (I did not attend) yesterday and got rejected, and this is the detail. Work Permit 5 years same employer (a 5-star hotel) Job title on WP: Management Graduate Current actual job...

As far as I can tell, a TWES could be no longer than 3 years, and you can only either come to UK after receiving this visa or switching into it from student visa, if you switched into it from say SEGS or PSW, then it's definitely Work Permit. And for Work Permit, you should have a Work Permit number...

Might be worth mentioning what the minimum rate for that "programmer" job is from the code of practice. Obviously the case worker can find out for themselves, but you want to make it clear your salary is ABOVE that rate don't you.

Just noticed the date you mentioned you were gonna apply in person is awfully close to Xmas, better find out if they open on that day, and it'll also be more difficult than usual to get an appointment. Sorry to give you more stuff to worry about, but better find out now than later.

Re: Tier2 & WP migrants - Technical changes to rules

Expect SET(O) form to be revised. The exact requirement (documentary evidences as proof of their income) will be known then. 3 months payslips and bankstatements are already a requirement. Just wondering what else they can ask for? There seems to be no other document to prove your income unless the...

If you just apply like this, you'll definitely be rejected. 1, try ask for payrise 2, find another SOC code whose job description is close to what you actually do, after all "Production Engineer" covers a lot of area. The job title doesn't necessarily have to be word for word, what you act...

First of all, I don't understand why you are not applying for ILR straight away, is it because of unspent convictions?

If that's the case, then the Tier 2 Board would give you better advice. If not, I really think applying for ILR now is the best option.

Yes, you have to submit a copy of your WP document, that's the very reason why you are eligible for ILR in the first place. but I wouldn't worry too much about using "programmer" title, after all, "software engineer" covers such a big field, and no one should be expected to have ...
