The 2121 SOC code for civil engineers is based on the ICE salary survey. The 2010 ICE salary survey is here and the categories on p15 are mirrored in the SOC. I expect the categories have not changed since the 2000 salary survey on which the SOC is based: http://www.ice.org.uk/getattachment/c4d6baf...

Hi sushdmehta, thank you. because it meets the minimum 20K, I should still get full points (as far I understand) right ? From what I have gathered lately, as long the Code of Practice says that you can pro-rata and you don't go below £20k, you should be fine. And I believe if it a shortage job then...

1. Only minor changes, such as correction of typos, can be made to an unused CoS by way of adding a sponsor note. Anything that would materially affect the consideration of the CoS is not allowed. Your friend will need a new CoS 2 Can you be more specific what your friend does? "civil engineer...

What I posted was UKBA's written confirmation. Print it and give it to HR. If they want further confirmation they can ring Andrew Barber on 0300 123 4699 or send the same email enquiry themselves, or speak to another advisor at UKBA and refer to Andrew Barber's email (received on 25/10/2012 @ 14.02...

Not all staff on the sponsorship helpline are equally well trained. I now have written confirmation that pro-rating can be used in your case.: I actually sent an email to Sponsorship PBS Enquiries: For SOC code 2121 (civil engineers) the appropriate salaries are listed for a 40 hour week. Please co...

Thank you very much for the quick reply. My HR contacted the UKBA employers help line and they were told that salaries can be pro-rated up but can NOT be pro-rated down. Hence I am not meeting the salary requirement. It does not make sense to me. Please help me to get through this. :(

Thanks for the reply. I have not got the CoS yet as I am not sure about this. But my HR is willing to issue it on my request. Did your HR mentioned about this to you or made any enquiries?

It is the reference number on the letter they sent with your passport. I checked this for my last application. And as Greenie mentioned, it makes it easy for them to pull your records.

For a tier 1 extension, you score points for income; nothing more, nothing less. If you register a business and garner revenue, you can use that to apply for your extension if that income has been through the various treatments laid out in the guidance. First of all thank you for your reply. But I ...
