Hi, I recently got ILR approved on 10-Apr-2015 at Croydon PEO office. My BRP card shows expiry date of 31-Dec-2024 which is less than 10 years. Is anyone else experiencing similar problem? I had this issue in 2008. I rented a room in a four bed room house and only two of us lived there. We cam to an agreement with the landlord that we will pay half of the tax between us and he will pay the other half. It worked well :D this totally depends on your landlord, he could refuse to do so.

You only have to pay it if your applying for a new category extending your visa in the same category. If you both don't have to extend then don't have to pay.

Simple answer is £200 per person per year. So if you extend your visa for another two years which will be 3 * 200 * 2.
