Re: Which category? - Sec. 3 of SET(O)

I'm applying myself this Friday with my wife and daughter who is 20, and have a question that might be relevant for the OP, too: When a dependant child over 18 is applying at the same time with his/her parents, one must use a separate SET(O) form. But which category should one tick in Section 3 of ...

Hi Khalid, I agree with you 100%. I faced the same situation you mentioned. I had to show the earnings for the full one year in 9 months. I considered myself lucky as I got the job within 7-10 days of my arival and which fulfilled the earning criteria but there could be many others that didn't. The ...

Re: Cohabitation

I dont know either what words should be used for your short sighted approach. Authorities would also love to know why and how you got to exhibit your thinking like that which was not intended? Anyways! I would suggest you dig into different concepts of "Cohabitataion" and "Presence in...

Hi, IMHO its form(m) and not form(o) for dependent over 18 years as I don't see anywhere in the Form(o) where it says it could be used by dependent over 18. It does mention however, that "reasons not covered by other applications" but in this case Form(M) is already there for dependent ove...

a-s is right. I also got my HSMP visa post 3 April 2006, initially for 1 year which was later extended for 4 years. Its not discrimination but the countries where it was applied from. For some countries it was 2+3 years and for others it was 1+4 years but both are covered by the HSMP JR anyway as bo...

I hope that everyone gets ILR like you did including myself and without the cohabitation proof. But as long as it is there on the form, you have either to tick it or leave it blank and if the caseworker asks for it, may be due to his ignorance, then one can refer to the JR Policy. But my point is st...

It concerns only those who apply under HSMP JR(no 2 years for cohabition) Even for HSMP (JR) it is required, please check the Set(O) form which is applicable to HSMP applicants. But my guess would be it would depend on the caseworker that deals with the case. If you don't know better don't give wro...

2. On what date did you enter UK (in 2006)?
We got visas approved in end of Aug 2006 and we entered UK for the first time on 19 Sep 2006.
You could apply for ILR anytime after 23 August i.e. upto 28 days before 19 Sept., the date when you first entered in the UK.

Re: Cohabitation

Could anyone please explian what type of docs to include as evidence of cohabitation? Does caseworker varify spouse 2 year cohabitation/presence in the UK from the passport entry/exit stamps? Not trying to defend the HO here but I believe there are several checks which are conducted by the HO (or an external agency) before the case is passed to a case worker. I suspect that the time it takes to finish those checks (credit check, criminal record check etc.) is the main difference between...

This is not the case of penalty points but court summon. IMHO its better to get a basic CRB check if in doubt to make sure if there is anything recorded, but I am pretty confident that you would get the visa extended. By the way if it was just a gap of 2 months (less than 3 months) you could have ex...

I don't think so as long as you have the previous statements with you.
