One more question. Does the two year period for ILR married to a british citizen start at the date of the marriage or from the date that the passport gets stamped with spouse visa? ie.. I presume it takes time for the UKBA to stamp the new visa on the passport of someone who is already here on a dif...

You are right in that comment. Things which favour the government are done overnight!!

The COA business has been going on since summer of 2010. Cant do anymore than wait I suppose.

Thanks Christophe, that was the answer I was looking for. Do you have any idea when the COA may finish. On the UKBA website its says in Spring 2011. That makes it latest end May 2011. Do you think it may drag out longer than that?

Marriage to a British citizen

If a person had arrived in UK on a valid visa, eg Tier 1, and got married in UK to a british citizen, then after 2 years of spouse visa and getting ILR he/she can apply immediately for british citizenship if their total presence in UK was at least 3 years? Or is there some other rule for british cit...

Extension when the time comes.

This is a purely speculative question to help people who applied for Tier 1 visa post July 2010 when they come to extending their visa after two years. It is based on the information available now not on any future changes. As the immigration cap was enforced from July 2010 the number of points requ...

Considering the potential cost and hassle of a second extension, I would try and get the date amended (others including me have had this done but usually not that easy), or travel earlier. Thanks for the eye openers and things to consider for the future although who knows what is in store in 5 year...

Thank You Mulderpf and T1 for your, as ever, remarkable knowledge and solutions. Am I correct in believing that when i come to apply for my first extension, my earnings should be similar to what I have declared in my original overseas application ie greater than 50k pounds to get the 100 points requ...

Will a few days really matter?

Sorry to ask a widely asked question, and maybe the answer is already somewhere here. I finally received my visa, stamped 3rd Jan 2011 instead of 15th Jan 2011 that I asked for. I was planning to travel to UK within the 28 days from 15th Jan but now this time has been cut short due to the visa stamp...

Update information on my application: Status was changed at around 7pm last night to say I could collect my documents between 2 and 3 pm. Went today to Gerrys with a firm hand on thumping heart, prepared for worst, and stood in long queues once again. Finally received the verdict they made me wait o...

Thanks Moga. In fact I also complained. I sent a very POLITE email to Abu Dhabi asking whether they were awaiting any information. They replied in a very general manner and told me to be quiet and be a good boy. Two weeks later they wrote saying they couldnt trace my application and to give m...

w/salam etrade If you look at all my posts you will see that as far as I am aware no verification was done. This could mean that in fact no verification was done or that my employers did not tell me of any communication from BHC. I actually emailed Abu Dhabi on this score to ask whether they were wa...

There should be a method of proving employment without jealous employers being able to take over the proceedings and ruining people's...

You should apply for admin review. Check if without the June salary also you have the required 100 points to be eligible for the Tier-1 Visa. You can send the additional document as a proof that the salary slip is just a scan copy of the original. However your case would now be judged base on 'rest...
