i heard that in the future may be english language test will be mendatory for tier1 dependents as well....so i think better to do ielts....dependents just need 5 or 5.5 band(which is very easy to acheive)...and ielts is valid for 2 years....

according to my knowledge, after refusing tier1 general(ex hsmp)one have the right for administrative review not appeal.and in that review, it is not allowed to submit any additional paper work(other then what u submitted in your real application).

its always preferable to do ielts (with overall 6.5 band)..and u can do general ielts instead of acedemic) .....general ielts is comparatively easier than academic ielts....
