That's good then. If you are asked to fill in the set(o) form, it means that your spouse can apply for settlement now, and it is exactly the sticky post advised. Please update the result of your spouse's application when you can, it will be really helpful for the others.

2) He was asked to fill set o and do that very soon. Angelica, I'm getting a bit confused by what you posted here. Are you sure that the Home Office asked your spouse to fill in the set (O) form? I though it would either be FLR (M) if your spouse has to switch the visa or SET(M) if your spouse can ...

The fee for the premium service is £1239. So it costs £2739 in total. There is however one thing which baffles me in the set(o) form. The guidance says applicants based on long residence to use premium service, can we still choose to tick the premium (PEO) option in the form for the payment? In addi...

I have to say that I'm getting confused. According to a sticky post, 'PBS dependants whose leave expires after 08-Jul-12: If your current (PBS dependant) leave will expire after you have completed the qualifying period then, according to the changes announced, it is expected that there will be no ne...

10 year long residence and Canadian PR query

Hello guys, I'm planning to apply for the 10 year long residence in this September, but not sure if the Canadian permanent residence I got will have any implication on my application. I applied to immigrate to Canada during my stay in the UK and my application was approved at the beginning of this y...

I'm just worrying if the Home Office will challenge the validity of my wife's psw dependant visa when she applies for ILR. Since I am going to change from PSW to ILR, her psw dependant will lose ground of validity. If she has sufficient leave and will not be traveling, then I think that she may wait...

10 year ILR, what about my spouse?

I probably need the help of your guys. I'm going to appy for ILR at the end of this year based on 10 year rule after student and psw. My spouse came to the UK about 7 months later and she could apply for ILR soon after as well. But I am not sure if my spouse will have to appy for a new dependant vis...

One interesting answer I heard from Damian Green is that he said the government is not legally obliged to give PSW to students already in the UK. However, he did not seem to be very confident to say so. He also mentioned that it would be about 'six weeks' before the new policy to be announced. So I ...

It would be a very strange situationif this were the case, would the goverment have to have transitional arrangements in place for 5, 10, 20, 30 years? There are students in the UK who may graduate in 7 years time, should they be entitled to apply for PSW in the future even though they are currentl...

We could make a collective donation to JCWI and also raise our concern, so that it could campaign for PSW transition as well.

Hi All, I've been following your post for the past couple of days. The proposals to stop the PSW is a huge blow for the students who are about to come to the UK in Jab/Feb intake, including me  I've been preparing for the last 1 year for this opportunity and I'd resigned my job last month. PSW should be granted to students who are in uk on a student visa.....no psw out of country applications should be accepetd.... in fact all out of country psw applications should be stopped.....that will only help fresh graduates from uk universities gain a good skilled job in uk on a psw visa........

Home Office did not, like they did for T(4) General, prospose different time scales as options, which implies they are more likely to close it entirely. Well, that's what I fear... but, even if they do close it, they should provide some transition period. I remind you, HSMP MBA work visa was simila...

It doesn't say anything about phasing in changes...only if you select that u want changes to psw It does say about the time period as well, it work like that : 10. What changes do you think we should...

Personally I think we have got the power to influence the policy but don't know how to use it. Don't count on the mercy of the government or the court for your chance! Just imagine 50000 international students (probably mainly master's) threaten to claim fully or partially their tuition fees back (a...

I guess the most effective way is to push the universities. If some students consult their universities for the possibility of terminating their courses and having tuition fee refunded because of the termination of PSW (certainly you don't have to really drop out if you intend to finish your course)...
