Sur,

No the ref nos would be different for both.

Generally you should have got 2 reference nos,one for the application you sent,other for the return envelope that you should have placed inside,provided u've put the return envelope by recorded delivery.

thats bad..they are keeping up the timeline only in this and not in the application processing.

You are right.We should never ever go for postal applications again at any cost..thats a lot of hell.

You can call them on 0870 606 77 66 and need to select option 2.Have your ILR ref no handy.You should be able to reach them after trying a couple of times.

Savid,We've applied after a week of yours(on 2nd Oct),we too did not hear anything from homeoffice yet. Even I called them today and enquired about the progress,they said that the application is still under processing and 95% of postal applications will be dealt in 6 months of time. Did you enquire ...
