Your BRP must have been delivered with a letter attached to it.
The letter states clearly that if there is an error on the card, you need to send an email to a certain email address within 10 working days of recieving your card.
The use of overseas earnings is permitted.
However I will recommend u have a minimum of 3 types of evidence if possible e.g. Bank statement, payslip and letter from employer.
In addition to the above, you should include a well detailed cover letter as well as employment contract if possible.

Maybe u can try referring them to ukba website where it states clearly that ur status continues to be what it was as long as application is submitted before visa runs out.
Based on the fact that you entered the uk within 90 days of entry clearance being stamped, by October 2013 you will have met the 5yr qualifying period.
You need to check other attributes though I.e. absences, earnings, etc to ensure that you are ok.
