Thanks for pointing me to the FAQs, i have already read them before posting this question. I have had a chat with home office customer services and according to them HO has stopped accepting the ESOL certificates so even if you have acquired ILR using the ESOL, you still have to sit an English test ...

I have a small doubt about the continous period, Is there a rule which says that the continous absense should not exceed 90 days in one go in addition to 180 days in total for 12 months?

Many thanks for your reply Amber. I have one more query.

For english requirement, my wife has got a certificate from ESOL skills for life-L3 for speaking and lilstening only. The certificate does not say reading and writing. Will that suffice for the english requirement?
