I am still not fully convinced that the reason you have given justifies employees being paid in cash and not via a bank account. This may not apply to you, but usually when people are paid in cash, it is done to avoid paying tax, but once again, this may not apply to you so do not take offence, as n...

If the company you work for is FSA registered, why are they not paying your salary into a bank account?

Ideally, your wages should be paid into a bank account and earnings are verified this way as they can be corroborated. It is unfortunate that you are in this predicament, but as some of the other posters have said, it is down to your own error and not an error of The Home Office

Hi, Do you have any records for the said cheque and how do the company know you are based in the UK? I find it strange that this case is being brought up now after over 6 years. Anyway, the ideal thing to do is to try and settle the case out of court and make sure you keep a record of all correspond...

Fooj,

Why would you be so negative and believe that they would refuse your application?

Surely, before you apply, you will try to make sure you tick all the right boxes to qualify before sending in the application.

Hi, Two important questions: 1. Why would you want to cancel your pending application and then apply again? Does that not negate the end result of what you want to achieve and duplicate effort? 2. By choosing to withdraw your application, will you be still have leave to remain or has your visa alrea...

Hi Baxx, I agree with you about the rules not being completely fair, especially as it lays a lot of emphasis on income which does not always correlate to skill levels as is the case with academics and people in art. Sadly it is the way it is. I have had friends who have worked hard here and embraced...

To the op, Is your gripe because others have been successful and you haven't? People are granted I.L.R, extensions and so on because they have ticked the right boxes as contained within the law and the guidelines specified to qualify. We all know that no set of laws will be perfect, but it is not re...

Hi, You should always say the truth in every application. You can include some notes to explain that although you were in the UK, you were already working for the business and then took up a permanent role in Jan 2012. The key thing as Lucapooka has already said is having strong ties to your home co...

Hi,

Now that your sister in law is unemployed, she will need to prove beyond any reasonable doubt that she has strong ties to her home country or else there is a risk that the visa will be refused.

Hi,

For a Tier 1 General extension, there is nothing in the guidance that states that you must use income from only highly skilled work.

The important thing is to meet the minimum qualifying points to qualify for the visa by showing the relevant documents needed.

If you are applying for a Tier 1 General extension and are using payslips and bank statements as evidence, an employment letter is not a mandatory requirement.
