Age limit for ILR

Hi,

My uncle came to the UK on a Tier 2 visa and recently got his extension. He will be eligible for an ILR in 1.5 years time but he would be 62 by then. Is there an age limit on ILR? Would he have a problem getting an ILR and subsequent citizenship as he is near retirement age?

Thanks

Thanks Casa,

Thanks ArFaisal. My letter did not say anything and that's why Ibstarted this thread initially as I saw on the website but nothing on any communication from the HO.

Thanks

Re: working in EU - What to do after Citizenship ceremnoy

Hi All, Just FYI Thanks for the support. I got the naturisation on 30th March. Apllied for the passport on 31st. Got the interview done yesterday and just got the message that the passport is on its way. Pertaining to this question that I posted, I was told during the ceremony on 30th March that the...

Re: working in EU - What to do after Citizenship ceremnoy

Thanks Noajthan for the advice. Looks like that's the only option.

Btw, Wanderer, thanks for the pun. I was actually looking for a solution...

Thanks

Re: working in EU - What to do after Citizenship ceremnoy

Thanks both for the answer. Is there any other way of circumventing it. I checked the urgent passport thing but cannot actually do it becuSe it's a first time adult passport. Maybe take the hit of the fine and hope that they will let me enter everytime on it? Is that even an option? Thanks Khurram

working in EU - What to do after Citizenship ceremnoy

Hi, My ceremony is on the 16th of Jan. I work in Finland and travel every week between London and Helsinki. If I return my BRP, would I be able to travel on the Citizenship certificate or should I not return my BRP, continue using it and apply for the passport and explain it to the Immigration offic...

Re: Travel of UK born children on Tier2 Depend - Parents on

Hi CR001, Thanks for your answer. But, i just wanted to be very specific so that there are no ambiguities in mhy understanding. Would their dependant BRP that has a validity until Nov 2016 be considered as a valid Visa even though the main applicant which is me got an ILR, so technically their depen...

Re: Travel of UK born children on Tier2 Depend - Parents on

Hi, we both got our ILRs on the 5 year PBS Route. The question is more if we can travel with the children even if they dont have their ILRs and only have their PBS dependant BRP cards with them, which from a date validity perspective are still valid.

Thanks

Travel of UK born children on Tier2 Depend - Parents on ILR

HI Friends, My wife and I got our ILRs in Dec last year. We did not apply for the ILR for our two sons as they were born in UK. The plan was to apply for their natuiralisation immediately after our ILR, but due to certain circumstances (mostly work rleated travel), I was not able to do so. My questi...

Following is the breakdown: - 25-Dec-06 16-Jan-07 Personal Trip 20 09-Sep-07 14-Sep-07 Business Trip 4 29-Sep-07...

Hi, I am going to a solicitor tomorrow (Monday). What I need to know if there has been any similar instances involving Tier 2 General Visas. I went through the earlier link posted and it talks about WP and the definition of "lawfully residing in UK for 5 years". However, I was going throug...

Thanks, I'll check it. My work permit expired in Nov 2010. So I got a CoS from my employer to help me complete my 5 years. On the basis of this I got a Tier 2 General Visa and the BRP Cars. The reason for the extension was that I got the visa in Nov 2005 but only came into the country in Jan 2006, s...

I came to the UK on 21st Jan 2006 to work for a large blue chip company and since have been associated with the same employer. My role requires me to travel to locations all over the world with UK being my base location. I stayed in UK continuously with occasional European business trips from Jan 20...
