Re: Surrendring Indian passport

Hi All, I've received my British passport. I'm going to surrender my Indian passport in the next week. I'm planning to go alone and submit my application along with my wife & child's applications. a) Is hand-written authorisation from my wife sufficient or is there any standard form? I couldn't ...

Re: PEO Refund

I had to cancel my peo appointment last month. I requested for refund from PSCAppointmentRefunds@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. It has been a month now, and there is no response nor refund from them. It is frustrating. Is there any contact number or other ways of addressing this matter?

Tier1 extension

a) My visa expires on 01-Jul-2012. Can I apply for extension in Mar 2012 (more than 3 months left)? b) If yes, do I need to provide any justification in the application for early renewal? I am not really bothered about loss of 3 months for ILR qualification. One of the reasons to apply in March is t...

Anand, The guidelines document is very misguiding us ( or British office is cheating us) and as I learnt recently, couple of other applications have been rejected for the same reason. As I have heard that, appeal process takes lot of time to get resolved. Even after decision is overturned by the cou...

Quoting from below link: " If the main Tier 1 (General) applicant or migrant has been in the UK for less than 12 months, you must show that you or they have at least £1,600 to support you, in addition to the funds needed to support them . If the main applicant or migrant has been in the UK for...

BTW, Why do you say that the chances of visitor-visa rejection are high?

Sushdmehta, first of all thanks for your quick reply. I'm confused again about the required balance. I had ruled out the option of appeal because I heard that it can take really long time (3 months to 9 months) to get a decision and several other discussion threads said that the balance to be mainta...

Amit, The only place I could find (unfortunately after rejection) was in Tier1 application form itself. However, I applied for Visa from India. Hence, my maintenance fund was £2800. Since you applied for visa from UK, it could be just £800 (same as Tier1 application). However, I think for dependan...

If we are in UK for 2 or 3 months only, then is 2 months of bank statements & salary slips sufficient?

I think the safest option is to maintain £2800 + £1600 + £1600 = £6000. It sounds ridiculous, but I was in somewhat similar situation where the dependant visa was rejected.

Dependant Visa rejected... what next?

Hi, I'm in UK on Tier1 since Nov 2010. I applied for dependant visa for my wife (in India now) on 21th Dec 2010. But, the visa was rejected (on 19th Jan 2011) due to insufficient fund maintenance. Due to incorrect information (thanks to misguidance from VFS Chennai), I was maintaining little more th...

If you are in UK for less than 12 months on Tier1, then you need to maintain atleast £1600 (for each dependant) + £2800 (for yourself) for dependant visa. I am in UK since 3 months on Tier1 visa. The dependant visa for my wife was rejected due to insufficient funds. I was under the impression that...
