Hi all, there's a lot of speculation around the following question: Now with the new 180 days/ in 12 months permitted outside UK, it seems unclear whether or not those on Tier 1 general will have to submit evidence of reasons why they've been outside the UK, even it it doesn't exceed 180 days a year...

My question! What about those on tier 1 general who are self - employed? I don't have 5 weeks' paid leave , I can be on leave for as long as I want, so how do I need to prove my below 180 day absence in one given year?

Right, but you can't just keep applying for Tier 1 more than 2 times can you. So really, in order to make up the 5 years of stay in the UK, i should apply as close to the date my current Tier 1 expires as possible right?

Can i apply for the extension of my Tier 1 months before my current Tier 1 (the first one) expires? Or will it have implications for the subsequent ILR application? In order to then qualify for the ILR how many days before the Tier 1 expires should I apply for my Tier 1 extension?
