I phoned them yesterday to find out why I am not getting any acknowledgement that they got the application and they said that they have a large mail backlog. She checked and the application was not even in the system yet and I mailed it out 4 weeks ago. Worried now that it may have gone missing.... ...

What is the citizenship of the child? Are you and your wife the parents of the child, listed on the birth certificate? Are one of you citizens of another EU member state, other than Ireland? In any case, travel should be very easy if you all have passports and you have the birth certificate. Where ...

Irish citizen travelling with non-EU child

Do I understand this correctly? My wife and I are both Irish citizens, but my 12-year old son is non-EU. We have his citizenship application in, but I don't expect to hear from them before the end of the year. Now, if we want to travel anywhere in the EU as a family, he will still have to get visas ...

Thanks a lot.

Does anybody know if my son needs to be present when the application is made? He is in school and would not like to take him out if not needed.

Nationality on forms

I got my Irish passport a few weeks ago and now I need to complete a EEA Family permit to allow my son to enter the UK on a visit.

When asked for my nationality I am, do I enter Irish or my original nationality?

I am worried if I don't say Irish that they would reject the application.

Ah, thanks! I was pondering on this myself.

Does anybody know how long it will take for a minor to get his/her CON?

Irish passport

Hi, Maybe someone can enlighten me on this: When you finally get your certificate, does that also include an Irish passport or do you need to apply for that seperately? I heard from someone that the certificate and passport arrived in the same package, but I was always under the impression that you ...

Minister needs to sign

I asked this in the Timeline thread as well, may get more exposure here: Started citizenship process in August 2008, got request for additional info in June 2010. I phoned this morning to get a status update and was told that it is at the minister for approval. Anybody any idea how long to wait from...

Just phoned and they say my application is in the final stages of approval. In fact it is at the Minister for his approval now. Does anybody know how long it will take from here? Thanks! Could you please tell when did you apply and when did they ask for additional docs? Sorry, I applied in late Aug...
