Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

Hi, I had a few questions: 1. I acquired ILR after 4 years 11 months from a tier 2 general visa. Am I right in understanding that I can apply 12 months after the date of ILR? Ie I don't have to wait until 6 years have passed? Correct, you need a full 12 months on ILR to apply. Make sure you were al...

Re: BRP doesn't scan/match biometrics at airport

I assume it's not likely to have been an ILR cancellation issue, as that would have flagged on my profile in their system and they would not have let me through? I have no reason to believe it might be, other than that the officer remarked lightly that "it could have been cancelled, but that is...

BRP doesn't scan/match biometrics at airport

Hi This evening I returned from a trip overseas and presented my Brp and passport to the officer at the airport on landing. However despite scanning the card and trying the biometrics 3-4 times, it wouldn't work. Eventually the officer used my passport to check the biometric records and let me in. S...

Re: Tier 2 Extensions Query - Change in Sponsor

the 6 year cap on stay in the UK doesn't apply to you Thanks again - that's useful, but I just wanted to clarify - if I look at the guidance in this link - https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/328920/Tier_2_v17.0_EXT.pdf On page 7, it says that "if the appl...

Re: annual leave evidence

For a colleague of mine - he is on T2 G. How would this work for business travel? Our company has no records with regards to business travel and he travels frequently on work (total absences would still be lower than 180 days in 1 year, probably less than 180 days in 5 years). Does the letter need ...

Re: Tier 2 Extensions Query - Change in Sponsor

Thanks - in that case, I suppose I would be pre-April 6 2011, since payment was made on April 4.

In any case, how would this affect my position in terms of extension with a change of sponsor (or otherwise)?

Tier 2 Extensions Query - Change in Sponsor

Hi All, I am on a Tier 2 General Visa, applied initially out of country in 2011 and was granted entry clearance until 2014 - I applied for an extension and this was granted to me expiring in 2017. I had a question regarding applying for an extension with a change of sponsor. If I was to apply in ear...

all the applications are considered under current rule your COS, issued before 6th april, will almost certainly be "invalid" after 6th april because the job title and salary requirement would have been changd as there will be new code of practice so, apply as soon as possible, that is if ...

Academic reference instead of academic certificate

Hi, I need to show my degree certificate to get points for the English language sufficiency. However, I lost the certificate a few years ago and at the time my university did not issue replacements. The UKBA guidelines say that in such circumstances an academic reference also saying that replacement...

I have a question. If I have a CoS issued under the current rules (out of country applicant) - do I necessarily have to apply by 5th April to use this CoS?

The application forms clearly say that the start date has to be on or before 31/03/2011 so I guess whatever is left of the interim allocation will be allotted in March. They said they expect to be taking applications under the new rules from mid-March and the new rules take effect from 6 April, so ...

Are the allocations a lot more generous than before? 1500 a month is much more than the last few months, especially when you consider that the last few months' allocation included renewals and in-country applications, which the new allocation does not...only in November were there more than 1500 app...

Universities don't provide replacements....will a letter from the University + original transcripts showing my degree was awarded suffice?

:?: I don't really get that line of reasoning. I mean what if I were to start on 15th April? Are you suggesting that right now only people starting on 31 March and before should be applying for CoS? April's only two months away, so I'm sure there should be a system in place for getting a CoS out of ...

UKBA wants all those applying on or after 1 April to apply under new rules... thats their rationale cheers I fully understand that. But my question isn't about their rationale. My future employer has applied for a CoS for me with a start date of 1 April 2011. So this should be under the "new r...

yea... that implies... that new (unannounced) rules will come into play in April. it doesnt mean, there will be no need to apply for COS after march! Yeah, of course....but what happens to people who start on 1 April? I mean surely they need to apply for CoS before that and how is that possible wit...

im 90% sure it means all those applicants (in last months or so) who are earning 36k were awarded COS. this 36k is artificial limit applied by ukba e.g lets say UKBA received 500 apps. 450 of those apps were successful. but, they only had say,200, COS available to issue in January. so, by setting t...

Hi, I'm new here and had a question about the CoS salary thresholds. When they say that the panel awarded, for example in January, CoS to jobs of 36k and above, does this mean they were able to satisfy most of the valid requests for above 36k jobs, or does it mean they only considered these and gave...
