I seriously suggest that u get a solicitor if u can afford it because though it may sound like a simple misunderstanding to u, the HO can find a way to use it to ur detriment if u, especially if u r not well-versed with the law. Though this all stems from the issue with ur tuition, they should have ...

I had a similar situation when i applied for my PSW. It was refused because i submitted a bank statement with 'too much' information. Rule of thumb, if u dont need the HO to see it, then dont show it because they are looking for any reason to disqualify ur application. I had to get a solicitor, prov...

Wow, i think u've gotten some really cynically responses on this thread and hopefully u didnt take them personally. You have to very strong as in immigrant in the UK. Its unwise to to pursue it if ur unsure because u may end up regretting it gravely. I went to the UK with high hopes, made a lot of sacrifes to adjust and make ends meet while there, and 3 yrs later, I'm here questioning if it was worth it. I had to...

I agree. Why put off tmrw what u can do today? UK immigration laws change as often as the British weather so dont bank on it and further more, dont bank on it changing in your favour.

It's not worth it if you're unsure. Trust it. Do not come just on a whim or u will be deeply regret it. Thoroughly weigh the factors as suggested. Good luck mate.

I agree with what everyone else has said. I have been out of work for almost 6 months and have friends who have been out for longer. And we all have UK qualifications to the Masters level with UK experience to back it up. 40 days is absolutely nothing, especially if you are coming in from abroad. U ...

That's exactly why i'm trying to find out what documents I need to provide in the event that the case worker becomes concerned. I did some overseas consulting for his firm and it was easier for him to recieve my pay into our joint account while I was away. But I know the HO may get a bit concerned, ...

Sorry to be a pain, but did u provide anything additional like a letter from your accountant or letter of employment? Were ur payslips and bank statements the only evidence u provided?

Thanx so much for your response!

Overseas earnings

Hi I want to claim for earnings that I made overseas, but while I was in the UK. I presume this will not be a problem but I just want to make sure I have myself covered...

Well, i think based on the guidance, u can do one of two things: 1) Claim for Feb 2010 to Jan 2011 and explain that you were not in continuous employment for the whole period (i.e. Jun 2010), which should be allowed based on the guidance note number 102. 2) Claim for the most recent continuous perio...

Hi This might be helpful. This is what the guidance says: 102. An applicant does not have to be in continuous or full-time employment during the 12 months being assessed. 103. An applicant may claim for a period of earnings of less than 12 months if they have earned sufficient funds to claim the nec...

Passport issues & Previous earnings

Hi I recently renewed my passport (exp. 27 Mar 2010), which contains my PSW visa (exp. 07 Aug 2010). I plan to make an application for Tier 1 (Gen) next month. Will it be sufficient to submit only my new passport? Or will I need to submit the old one as well that has the PSW visa? One other question...
